Taramani MRTS Station - Railroad company in Chennai - Chennai, India

This place sucks. They keep the ticket counter 1km away inside the building... donno why they dont keep the counter nearby entrance instead of a hidden dungeon u need to search for this entire life... better if they keep QR code atleast near the entrance for better ticket taking experience. And this building looks like it can witness all kinda criminal activities, its that creepy.

This is a station that is kinda not safe during non peak hours like afternoon and nights. It's very large and mostly ghosted without much crowd. Ticket counters is at the dead end so one has to walk all the way to the end to get the tickets. It serves the purpose but not clean and maintenance is bad. Escalators are working. There is a coffe shop at the platform but closed most of the times. Parking is available.

Taramani mrts station is clean, roofed, spacious compared to other mrts railway stations. The ticket counter have both manual, and automatic ticket vending machines, tickets for general unreserved to long distance can be get from the taramani ticket counter itself.Trains will be 1/2 hr once due to on going construction projects.Lift is just left ,and right to the ticket counters. Opposite to the mrts station situated The Tamilnadu Dr Ambedkar Law University,one of the best and convenient mode of transport to the university is via train, There are a lot of auto rikhsaws available right in front the station. Overall good place.

This station is always full with IT employes. As this station is located in a place which is easily accessible to all the IT companies located here. This is the station where most of the IT employees deboard and board the train. But the station lacks maintenance. No proper toilet facilities. For getting the ticket passengers has to walk 200 to 300 metres approx. Needs lots of improvements. No proper toilet or rest room facilities.

The escalator doesn't work at times and there are dogs! Beware

Semi finished. Food court not functioning. No drinking water facilities available. Poor maintenance over the backside of the station. Trains towards Chennai beach and Velachery are available at 10-30mins interval. The number of commuters likely to increase once services are extended from Velachery to St. Thomas mount.

First floor is very dark. Very slippery staircase. Escalators won't function very often. Lifts stops working sometimes. Good thing is they have a pay and use toilet which is maintained ok.

Worst maintenance. Catering to the transportation needs of Chennai's IT corridor, I wish this station was more clean and bright. Plus sparse availability of bus connectivity is a big drawback.
