New Poona Boarding House - Featured Reviews (2644)
Almost more than 50 years old outlet, serving authentic Maharashtrian Veg, Thali, unlimited serving except few items
They serve to 2 sabji Aamti (lentil,)Raita or koshimbir Chapati, rice papad, Dahi (curd).
Every thing is unlimited, except Dahi and papad
Now let us come to taste
Hey steps awesome just like homely prepared food, but specific thing to mention that in every preparation of Amati and sabji even in koshimbir, they use sugar or Jaggery So almost all the food items except Chapati and rice or little bit on sweeter side but the taste it is perfectly balanced. Food is delicious and you don't feel heavy Ness in stomach after having your meal
So I will give you 9 out of 10 rating for food over here keeping one star with me because the rice was too much dry so that is absolutely my personal opinion may differ with others
Wanted to visit this place since very long and finally had it happened.
Its an old, simple yet clean place having typical Maharashtrian Menu. Menu is short and sweet, which I really liked. It only has a Thali system with unlimited refills.
Taste is simply amazing. The menu was - kaacrii bttaattaa, ddaal methii, khmNg kaakddii, aamttii, polii aanni bhaat. Like I mentioned, menu was simple yet delicious. Liked each and every item. All items are mild in tatse (the way they should be) and do not give you trouble anytime.
A must visit place if you want to have simple yet authentic Maharashtrian Thali.
Yummy food. If you want to eat typically Puneri food, this is the place to go for. Traditional satvik food is offered here. No extra masale and tamjham. Lovely taste and is unlimited with loads of variety.
Food that reaches the soul.. if you like homely, simple maharashtrian food. This is a must must visit place . They kind of have a fixed thali menu - sabjis etc decided for different days of the week.. pick your favourite and find Nirvana

Don't even want to give them one star.
I wasted 1:30 hours of Sunday morning here.
Ordered 1 thali over call at 11:30am. They asked me to come after half an hour to collect it.
It was not ready when I went there.
Had to wait on their small balcony.
No waiting area with chairs.
Waited there another 1 hour and when asked about waiting time they rudely replied "We don't have enough manpower. We are helpless"
If you can't manage this much crowd then stop taking orders on Swiggy, Zomato.
Poor and rude management.
Never going to visit again.
Worst worst worst.
Potato sabji, peas sabji - both liquid, cucumber tomato salad, soupy amti, chapati, masala rice, papad, srikhand, chaas. This on a celebratory day. Sabji was lower class chilli powder boiled water. Same with dal. Simple dishes which could have been good tasting, had they used good masala and some condiments. It's on the first floor of an older building. I heard such a lot of this place. Totally disappointed. No taste.
Puna boarding house-
Decent tasting Maharashtrian thali for 200 Rs.PP.
The restaurant is always crowded as the sitting area is small.
You have to sit with strangers which is quite uncomfortable.
