India hotel is one of the oldest properties in Nainital mall road. The location is good, and so is the food and staff. However, I visited in November first week and it was pretty cold. The rooms are airy and chilly air was passing through roof and windows all night. There is no geyser, hot water supply is for limited time. In such winters, they don't keep heaters in rooms, heaters are in Rs500 charge, which I found to be very absurd. Rest, staff is very friendly and helpful. Room service is good.

Although big trees cover the view of the lake from this hotel, it is a very good option to choose to stay. My room is old and the bathroom did not have an exhaust. Like many other hotels in Nainital, no lift. Great location and quick service. Looks like it's run by people who know the hospitality business well.

Outstanding location. Only a few meters away from the lake. Superb food. Rooms are in need of renovation. Blankets may be replaced along with head pillows to make it more modern and comfortable. Staff behaviour is excellent.
