Gandhi Statue Circle - Historical landmark in Port Blair - South Andamans, India

Its in the middle of 3 roads......one sloping down from ghantaghar.......another opposite to that towards the auditorium and the third i.e opposite to the sbi is towards mohanpura. Its clearly visible from far from the 3 roads........ When i lived there in 2010-2012 i daily pass by this chowk.....i was one of the memorable things in the heart of the aberdeen bazaar........

Gandi statue at portblair looks nice at night, it is suitated near the abdreen bazar where you can buy some good stuffs of clothes and local items of Port Blair

Good place to visit. Once people and friendly in nature. Surprising to see"Syra" movie wall poster. Good to see that all bike riders 100% wearing helmets including piloian rider. Good to learn from Port blairians.

It is main place to identify the other areas and next is Govt Bus Stand, State Bank of India, Mohanpura and Municipal Council

the main atteraction for me was as follows A. plenty of amount water content in green coconut B. neat and clean place except some drainage C. this is the center point i.e. from this you can go any where and for road transport bus stand is located near it and also sea beaches are near to it. D.for stay in night you have to take room at rent, starting from 500/- per bed

An important landmark to know about in case you are new to Port Blair. Near to it is a bus depot, SBI bank and market. I passed it while I traveled on foot from phoenix harbour/ticket counter to cellular jail, an approximate 2km distance.

It is one of Center and old attraction of Port Blair. Even before the tourism was developed in the islands it was one of kind thing here. It is also a place for grand celebration of Gandhi jayanti on 2nd of October every year
