A cozy little Kerala home housing a priceless museum of antique lamps collected from around the globe. Each lamp is exotic and has a long interesting history behind it. It is the culmination of a lifetime of passion, hard work and painstaking research done by the owner Shri. Ratna Prasad, who is a personality as unique as his collection. It is a pleasure to listen to his marvellous description of each lamp and witness his soul shining through his eyes when he does so! There is no other place on earth where you can see such an amazing plethora of lamps. I strongly feel that the collection should be given a bigger space with a World Heritage tag so that it can be preserved for posterity. Moreover, the owner deserves a lifetime achievement award for accomplishing such a Herculean task of bringing these precious pieces of world history all under one roof!
IMPORTANT NOTE :- Kindly call up before you go and make sure that each visiting group is restricted to 4 members at a time. Owing to space restriction, it is difficult to manage huge crowds.
Deepanjali lamp museum located at Puthiyangadi, Calicut is one of its kind of museum with rare collection of lamps across the geographies and used for various purposes from the old days. It's unique experience and must visit place when you are in Calicut to experience the collection of lamps from 18th century. It also features different designs and when it comes with the scientific explanation for what it was used in the past is a great learning.
