Hidden Gem in Leh Market
I recently visited Bodhisattva - German Bakery & Restaurant in Leh Market, and it exceeded all expectations. The five-star rating is well-deserved for its delectable bakery goods and diverse menu. The ambience creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to unwind.
The owner's hospitality adds a personal touch to the dining experience, enhancing the overall enjoyment. I highly recommend this cafe to everyone, urging them to visit, particularly during winters. Supporting such local gems during low tourist turnouts is crucial, and Bodhisattva is definitely worth the visit.
Cozy beautiful ambiance with finger-licking dessert. The chairs are so comfortable here. I ordered blueberry cheesecake and loved it. A must try if you have a sweet tooth. The lady at the counter is super-cute, she said that they themselves bake all of the stuff there.
All of their cakes are made fresh, on site. I had the Apricot Cheesecake (Rs 120) and Mocha (Rs 150). This place is right in the bustle of Leh Market, and it's very popular. The owner is a very sweet person, and my visit here was a fun one. 5 stars...worth a visit, for sure!
One of the good bakery of Leh Market. We order Cookie and Americano. Cookie was wonderful and Americano. The vibe of the restaurant is chill & cool. You can make lovely tummy memory here.
Tried Volcanic Momos, Pastries, Thupka, Hot Chocolate visiting them over 3 days
This place is a must visit in Leh Market and the lady owner of this cafe is very warm and welcoming to have a chat with... a good number of options for eggless desserts as well
Highly recommended
The Bodhisattva Restaurant and German Bakery, has a prime location, right next to the Buddhist Gonpa doors in Leh's Main Market, but it's easy to miss it, as the facade doesn't stand out against the competing facades of nearby shops and eateries. The cake counter faces the street, so it does attract some attention, as it did mine. I ventured inside to a cozy space, designed like a traditional Tibetan/Chinese restaurant with red spherical Chinese paper lanterns, dragons painted in blue and gold, walls the colour of saffron-yellow, and Tibetan motifs and designs everywhere, including golden-yellow, pleated cloth, fringing the ceiling, just as they do in temples. The menu is a bakery-cum-momos affair, coffees, lassis and shakes. I ordered a cappuccino and a piece of chocolate walnut cake. The cappuccino was extra hot just as I like it. The cake, on the other hand, was bland and abysmal. I guessed, it was eggless, something the restaurant confirmed later. After finishing the nice, hot cappuccino, I sat in the cafe checking my email and browsing the net for global news. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual, the colours inside warm and comforting. I'll certainly be returning to check out their momos.
Perfect place to relax and enjoy hot chocolate, coffee, cheese cakes and other freshly baked goodies. Visited multiple times during our stay in Leh.
That apricot cheese cake i ate was definitely not fresh and not soft enough!
However place looks chic.....
We balanced the bad experience with cake with plenty of photos, so....
