It's honestly such a nice spot to get away from the city buzz and take a look at the pretty view. If you're not really a fan of swimming but still like going to the beach to observe this is a good place, though always a bit chilly. Have not fished but there's always a lot of people at the pier. There's also a playground with very sturdy and fun displays that fit all ages
Beautiful park. Easy drive from Johnson Space Center as we had to wait a few hours to enter. Great to bird watch shore birds. Volleyball nets and beach area were operational. Great place to sightsee the oil rigs in the bay. Bathrooms available. Lots of parking.
If you want to get a taste of the beach, even though it's just the bay, this is a great place. Free to get in. It's a little crowded but great for people watching. Waterhoses provided to wash off saltwater. Bathrooms and a bait shop where you can buy admission to a long pier where you can fish from. Planty of beach sand to sit on and roped off swimming area.
Not a bad pier, a little pricey for entry and fishing wasn't great. A beach for swimming but water is the normal brown. Crabbing by the boat ramp. Restrooms were full of people from the beach their feet in the sinks...nasty.
Huge beautiful park in La Porte! Lots of tables around the park with shade. Fishing pier and a store to buy anything you need to fish. Huge playground for the kids with shade.
Such a great place to bring the kiddos. Lots of things for them to do, from swings to slides, walking on the beach, walking down the pier, feeding seagulls, etc. Nice place to relax as an adult, as well. Pay the fee and you can also fish off the pier. Bait shop is conveniently located close to pier and if you're thirsty, you can pop in to buy a drink. Lots of parking as well.
Beautiful, clean beach, you can swim and fish from the pier. One thing is bad, the showers on the beach do not work and the sand will have to be dragged into the car.
This beach is a very nice place to come on a consistent basis. It's clean, has a nice park area for kids to play, and free grilling/picnic area. It has a nice extensive and well kepted pier for fishing along with an onsite tackle-bait store. It's very pet friendly. My dogs love it when I bring them here. The restrooms are clean most of the time. I would have rated it a five-star easily, but the hours of operation are too short for my preference. I do understand the safety aspect of having the hours as they are, but adding a few hours to such a wonderful place wouldn't hurt.
