The place where history sleeps is here and that is what makes it so special. A half day trip to this place is the best way to spend your time. I found it to be very informative and interesting for all of us. A lot more can be learned there, and on top of that, there is a trail where we can take a long walk if we want to. If you are interested in visiting the museum, which is housed inside the monument, you will have to pay 14 dollars per person for admission.
Definitely worth a visit to this interesting place. The video was awesome & I enjoyed learning about the battle & history that way rather than reading it all. The observation deck was cool, the change machine was not working & I was short a quarter for the smashed penny machine, so we had to go down to get change. Luckily one of the volunteers told us about a penny machine by the gift shop. There was also a crowd of school kids running around yelling which made the experience a little less enjoyable.
This is an absolute must to see! The last battle that led to requiring Texas. The museum is very informative and wonderful artifacts. Be sure to drive around the grounds and learn about the history that took place here.
Great place to learn Mexico/Texas history. Drive or bike the battleground area for free and imagine the people and battle. Great area for birding, too. Museum and observatory are worth the entrance fee.
Lovely views and a great museum. Interactive things for the kids to get them interested in history. Free posters and pinch pot kits. Work puzzles and solve history clues. You can also sign up for a van tour included with the price of admission. The van drives you around, but you do not get out. There is a great film that is a nice introduction to the site. Ample free parking. Stay as long as you like.
The best place we visited in Texas behind the Alamo. Great museum, movie, and exhibits about the Texas Revolution. It is a history lover's dream. The monument has easy access and there is a ton of green space and trails on the grounds of the park for hiking, picnicking, and bird watching. They have restrooms, gift shop, and very reasonable pricing for all you get to see and do. Staff is extremely friendly.
We have been living in Texas since 2014 but didn't know much about this place. Great place to visit.
On a side note.
Please make sure to bring a mosquito replacement with you.
Definatly worth the trip! Beautiful monument with ample parking. Inside there is a musem, theater with film about the battle site, and an elevator up to the observation deck.
