Wow! This place is absolutely stunning. Make sure to call to see if they have a private event because no public can be admitted. It closes at 4 PM to the Open public. We did the self guided tour you can walk the castle and under an hour but I highly recommend to take your time. There are so many intricate details. Would love to go back and explore it again! Thank you to the staff and the gift shop. They were so much fun to talk to :-)

Fascinating, eclectic castle built by the eccentric inventor of radio control later used to control boats and now drones. The castle was his laboratory. Great guided tour followed by self exploration. Many stairs including narrow spiral staircases. Not handicap accessible. Would be challenging for people with mobility issues.

My fiance took me here as a birthday surprise and I couldn't have been happier. We spent 2 hours here, just exploring the different rooms and reading everything. At one point, we thought we had seen it all, so we went back inside and to take a few more pictures, and we found another 2 rooms we had missed. This is definitely a cool place to go if you're into museums and history. I loved that while it was a museum, it was also more interactive than a classic one. Winding staircases and interactive exhibits, and it had an amazing view of the ocean. I told all my friends about this place and everyone loved our pictures.

The outdoors have some really nice views. The ocean and the blue sky were beautiful . Pictures came out really great with the fort walls in the background. It's good location for photshoots. The outer area was good to explore. The museum wasn't so great. It also had a $20 entry fee. It smelled weird like any historic castle would so we avoided. There is restroom inside.

Pros: The castle is absolutely gorgeous. It transported us to Europe, where we lived for several years. Our tourist guide was excellent! Really enthusiastic and charming. He answered all our questions. Cons: I didn’t feel welcome by the two ladies of the gift shop from our first interaction when we bought the tickets until the last interaction. We said thank you when we left and they didn’t not reply anything.

If I had to describe it in one word..! Wonderful.! A Great, ornate, quirky castle.! Tour guides are available, but we decided to take a self-guided tour. Lots of rooms and many floors to explore.

It is a very attractive piece of history. The location is very romantic and it feels very dreamy like for a wedding party. The inside of the castle was very surprising and not similar to any historic site of this area. Choose a sunny day to go there, so you can enjoy the outside part of the castle, by the sea.

I drove here from Lexington while staying the weekend for a work trip. I did not do a guided tour but rather walked around by myself and took time to appreciate the building and all the cool stuff inside. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a little random tiny walkway takes you to another room.
