We were here to see the Edward Hopper exhibit that's running from July to October as a celebration of Edward Hopper' works inspired by the houses and the towm of Gloucester itself. Excellent display and the rest of the museum is also a great place to visit if you're in the area. You can possibly spend 2-3 hours if you want depending on your space. There are also some cool sculptures in the courtyard. There's limited parking in a lot across the street. A gift shop is located inside the museum that sells magnets, books, postcards and other things. CAM is located in what's basically Downtown Gloucester if you're interested in exploring restaurants, shops and cafes.
A quaint museum in the beautiful and historic town of Gloucester about an hour's drive from Boston. Right now, the museum is showing a must-see exhibition of Edward Hopper. It was in Gloucester 100 years ago that Hopper became the Hopper we know today!
Small art museum on the North Shore. I came to see the Hopper exhibit before it leaves and it was very nice. The permanent exhibits include paintings on the first floor and historical artifacts on the second. Small gift shop. No food is sold here. Small parking lot across the street.
The best museum on the north shore by far. The cape Ann museum has everything you need to know about cape Ann. The people that run and work at the museum are spectacular. The architecture of the ships and the building itself is impeccable. The archive area is amazing they have everything from trains to fishing to even reports on the cape itself. Just a all around amazing place to go to. Would recommend 5/5
A gem of a museum! We went for the Edward Hopper exhibit, which was great. I only wish there were more of Josephine Hopper's works. The additional highlight was getting to see the Foley Cove Designers collection. We're big fans of Virginia Lee Burton's books and it was such a pleasant surprise to see her influence. It's definitely worth visiting if you're already in the Cape Ann area.
An outstanding museum focusing on what makes Gloucester unique. You can easily spend 2-3 hours here. I highly recommend taking advantage of a tour with a docent. The 60-minute tour was informative and engaging. After you are finished at the museum, walk toward the water a couple of blocks and you'll have plenty of great cafes and local shops to choose from.
Fabulous exhibit on Edward Hopper thrpugh mid-Oct. Be sure to reserve tickets ahead. Includes self-guided tour of views Hopper painted while in Gloucester. And the delightful surprise were the paintings of Hopper's wife included! Museum the perfect size for a leisurely afternoon visit. Be sure the see the room dedicated to the Folly Cove designers & the 'Coming Home' collection.
Lots of hype for the Hopper show. Only a few oil pieces(work he is very well known for). Too many stretches and watercolor pieces. The CAM is a good venue for local history but I think it missed the mark with this show. Record number of attendees but that only shows the strength of hyped advertising.
Wow! This place is absolutely stunning. Make sure to call to see if they have a private event because no public can be admitted. It closes at 4 PM to the Open public. We did the self guided tour you can walk the castle and under an hour but I highly
Very tasty Lebanese dishes and friendly owners. A lot of people started coming in as we ordered so it's a really popular place. A nice change of pace if you need a break from clams and lobster in Gloucester.
I absolutely love this place. I usually get a martini with breakfast, but today, just coffee. The food here is phenomenal, and the service is impeccable. I do recommend coming early. The place tends to fill up fast. The options are great, and I LOVE

The Fisherman's Memorial is a beautiful monument along the harbor, honoring the fisherman who have lost their lives at sea. If you're visiting Gloucester because you're a fan of the movie "A Perfect Storm" then this monument/memorial is a must-see.
Though we have had trouble with communications around equipment and or other facility concerns, overall, the YMCA is very clean place for the all of the community to enjoy. The health club is such a great resource for elders, people with physical cha
I was absolutely blown away at this house! Itâs a real-life fantasy that inspired me so much that I got a membership just so I could return for the longer tour! Be sure to book in advance as the groups must be small to truly enjoy the details of t
