Very good place with well maintained. Wheel chair is accessible. Photography is not allowed inside. A program about Andaman is always showing inside a Hall. Outside of this area i. e at the adjacent area some hawkers sells some gift items which are relatively lower cost than other areas of Andaman.

A nice museum. You have to buy tickets for Rs 20/- each. All about tribals of Andaman and nicobar. Tribals like the Nocobari, Jarawa. There are artifacts they used, which are displayed. Videography and photography is strictly forbidden.

The Zonal Anthropological Museum in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is a fascinating institution that provides a glimpse into the region's rich and diverse cultural heritage. The museum is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the unique customs, traditions, and lifestyle of the indigenous tribes of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The museum's exhibits include an impressive collection of artifacts, handicrafts, photographs, and models, which provide a comprehensive understanding of the region's cultural diversity. The museum's displays are organized thematically, covering various aspects of the tribes' lives, including their hunting and fishing techniques, their arts and crafts, their music and dance, and their social and religious practices. One of the museum's highlights is its collection of weapons and tools used by the indigenous tribes, which range from bows and arrows to fishing nets and harpoons. The museum also features traditional costumes and jewelry, which are a testament to the tribes' artistic skills and aesthetics. Apart from the exhibits, the museum also has an audio-visual room, which screens documentaries and films on the tribes' history and culture. The museum's library is another valuable resource, which contains a vast collection of books, journals, and reports on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and their indigenous tribes. A must visit museum of Port Blair if one is interested to know the anthropology of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. There are so many things kept here including the wooden vessels used by the tribal islanders to venture in the sea. Their huts, ornaments, utensils are also visible in this museum. It gives a proper idea of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. On the top of a rock of Phoneix Bay, the view and ambiance of the museum attract the viewers. Avoid visiting museum on Monday. It remains closed that day.
