The Shadow Tower, Capitol Complex. Le Corbusier constructed it in such a way that not a single ray of sun enters it from any angle (specifically in summer). The tower of shadows is a rather quirky part of the Capital Complex - situated at the head of Chandigarh. Chandigarh was Indias first post colonial city and the Indian government wished to make a clear statement as to how modern and forward looking the new country would be. le Corbusier was engaged to effectively design the layout of the whole city including the large public buildings that form the Capitol Complex. The tower is designed purely to show off how shadows change during the day.
