I visited the place after looking at so many posts. Honestly I felt it's a over hyped place. We got the daal patta after waiting for around 15 mins and didn't found it that good. I have been to places where much better taste daal i have eaten of course not in haridwar.

Its ok to visit once, but going deep into a confined street just for surja ki daal has many better alternatives to explore where various other options to eat are available. Visit here only if you are going 2 wheeler.

Hard Work always pays, Surja Ki Dal is best example of that. Surja Uncle is selling this Dal since long time and people are fan of their both varieties of Dal because of his simplicity and amazing taste with Indian Species. We highly recommend this, Amazing taste with limited spices..

Ah!!! what a taste! Refreshing!! He serves the dish with leaf. He makes around three to four types(different texture) with this boiled moong dal and spices. He is very hard working! He has regulars who loves his food. I am assuming with his popularity people trouble him often. So he gets little agitated when you click photo or video without his consent, which is quite understandable. Please be polite its been more than a week, I still have the taste on my tongue. If you are in Haridwar and love street food, definitely visit this place. His elder brother also makes the same dish in cart very close to him, he comes early and finishes early.

It's a very old street stall. Which serves a very unique item moon dal ki chaat. I had it at 20rs. The only major draw back of eating at this place is you have to travel through many dirty lanes of Jwalapur.
