North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences - Medical school in Shillong, Mawdiangdiang - East Khasi Hills, India

Located in a place blessed with majestic, calming views. This institute is well equipped with high tech modern equipments and the staffs here are all good. However, the only drawback is that they lack manpower. The institute is very clean and is one of the cleanest institutes in India. It has its own basketball court(which is one of the best in India), cafeteria, guest house, etc. with a huge parking space. Everything in the hospital is planned out to the core. I myself have worked here for a year as a Junior Resident Doctor and it will be unforgettable. The hospital itself looks like an airport and all the staffs are all sincere. The compund is very huge

I think the reputation of this hospital is going down .. i used to hear a lot about this hospital but it's worst, many of us come from far places but when we get here sometimes doctors are not available and patients are given next date, and also the doctors in the medicine OPD are not upto mark , if you are given in general medicine ward prefer not to go there.. it will take unnecessary amount of time and not expected result. Patients are not given needed attention and guidance and yes the language barrier is one of the major problems among them I see. Come to this hospital only if you have enough time and patience if there is any urgency then I would advise not to come.

One of the best yet affordable Hospital in NE India. I went several times for treatment of near ones. This time I went for my mom's treatment. The doctors are well equipped and the staffs are helpful. They have got doctors for every sickness from general to specialist. Without second thought you can go here .For heart patients I think this is one of the best It's very clean and hygienic. The surrounding is beautiful with all the greenery.

Biggest central govt funded medical institute in Meghalaya. Well equipped but, needs more faculty.

One of the apex Medical College and hospital. Well designed, well maintained, methodical teaching according to curriculum. Faculties are well trained and experienced.

Personally I wouldn't recommend this medical for any friend or family. Firstly 5 star for cleanliness and very hygiene and very green campus. 5 star for all kind of medical facilities and equipments. 5 star for very cheap test and diagnosis. But my personal experiences and suggestions though: Have came here for many medical purpose for myself and relatives. The medical is filled with amateur student who I thought is a doctor. Problem with them is they due to inexperience they will do lots of trial and error on the patient and won't come to any conclusion or cure even after 100th trial, by that time the disease get worse and you would have wasted your valuable time and resource, and your disease would only be worsen. I advise not to come here in case of any medical emergency. You will suffer a lot in the lines and formalities and the extended time of test and diagnosis. For a very simple acne or wound you will have to stay atleast 2 weeks to meet the doctor and complete the test prescribed by the doctor. Which means emergency patient will surely die here no matter what. Mark my word, any emergency patient will surely die here.

It very good treatment.....many medical equipment facility it available here.....I must say that it's the tuff hospital across Meghalaya ....there are many specialists Doctor's ..... Doctor here it's very good ,Staff, nurses very friendly.... many patients all across North East India came here for medical check up/treatment...... medical test is very cheap I like it....

It's one of the best hospitals in NE India and the cheapest since it's a central isntt. But in order to get things done fast,you gotta be the first in line for registration,you need to go as early as 6am in the morning eventhough opd registration starts at 9am. Casualty dept will help you for any of your med emergency needs. And there are multiple super speciality depts including ctvs, urology, neurology,neurosurgery,etc. There are multiple lodges outside the hospital although the one guest house inside the campus is reserved mainly for the staff(??) Fast food courts and departmental stores,plus gym,indoor stadium,pools etc are present inside the campus
