National War Memorial Southern Command - War memorial in Pune - Pune, India

A beautiful place that gives you goosebumps. It would easily take you 4 hours to go through all the history of the Southern Command with highlights of the Maratha empire. I would definitely go there again to spend some more time. It would be a great tour for school going kids also.

Nice one... I like it. Most patriotic place which gives us details of India Pakistan war and machine, guns, boats & planes are also displayed. Some important pics also framed over there.. I was visited at occasion of independence day. I loved it. Ony 20 Rs. Is the entry fee.

This is a War Memorial and museum, erected by citizens' contributions, dedicated to post-Independence war martyrs. This was dedicated to the nation on 15 August 1998. Visiting time- 9.30am-12pm, 4-7 pm, Tuesday holiday. Lovely place with lot of interesting war instruments, Photography allowed, One of the top 10 places to visit in Pune.

Paid a visit to the National war museum at Pune. It is well maintained and we get to see tributes right from Chola, Chatrapati Shivaji and Maharana Pratap to all the wars we have fought yet with different countries like Pak and China. Many military vehicles and MIG-23 with numerous tanks and weapons with ammunition are kept on display. The ticket is just 20Rs but you will come back knowing a lot about the Matreys and sacrifices by the Indian soldiers for the nation. A great place showcasing the historical importance of Indian Armies.

Visited this place today on 77th Independence day. Some different kind of energy realised at that place, full of patriotism and more. A feeling of gratitude towards soldiers who laid down their life for us , for the nation arises in. Showcased the valour, sacrifice and braveness of our soldiers. War memorial, IA operations , war info, ammunition, uniforms in army and special attraction that is Shooting range are the things you can experience. Best place to visit for taking experience of defence services. Youth must go and see what's their!

If you're Indian, and if you're in Pune or visiting Pune, this place is a must visit. We get to know sacrifices our soldiers do to safeguard the Nation.
