Place is maintained clean and neat. There was a lot of crowd at the time of visit as there was a film festival. The statue is right in the main road in front of Miramar Beach. Not a place of interest though but it's something you pass when you head away from the beach.
It represents a good relationship between hindu and Portuguese.
Brief About:
At the intersection of roads to St Inez and Miramar, opposite Kala Academy and in front of the Military Hospital at Campal, we find a very unique shaped monument, with some navigational markings on it either side. This is the "Prince Henry the Navigator Monument".
Originally a fort stood here (Fort Gaspar Dias) at the start of the Miramar beach. This would be directly opposite the Reis Magos fort. Between them they were designed to defend the entrance to the Mandovi, although they were of limited use. There is no fort here now, but the most prominent position on the beachfront is taken up by this statue representing Hindu and Christian unity. (Lonely Planet, Guide to Goa 2003)
The canon kept on the round-about at Miramar is one of the 16 original canons from the Gaspar Dias Fort.
Clean and well maintained. The place looks very good in the night time.
Beautiful beach with pine trees at one side.
One of the best and damn peaceful place.
It is a statue representing the unity of Hindus and Christians
Very prime location. Had lots of memories here. Twin statues represents the unity among Hindus & Christians. There's a chapel near it on the road. Beach behind it. And lots of Kwality Wall's Ice cream stalls which will definitely overprice you. Place looks beautiful even in night.
