I visited this sarovar last month and it was a very good site. This sarovar was formed after a meteorite hit about 56000 years ago. It is said to be the world's 3rd largest crater. There are old temples there with beautiful carvings of our gods. If you ever visit Maharashtra you should visit here once.
Nestled within the embrace of time, the ancient asteroid impact crater is a testament to the Earth's enduring evolution. Formed countless eons ago, its serene lake mirrors the duality of existence with its contrasting alkaline and acidic waters, a captivating reminder of nature's intricate balance. Amongst this ethereal landscape stand the echoes of devotion, where Hindu temples stand as guardians of history, carrying the whispers of prayers that have resonated through time. The lush greenery that blankets the surroundings paints a portrait of vitality, as flora and fauna harmoniously thrive. Yet, a mysterious touch graces this place, defying the conventional rules of navigation - a compass rendered powerless in the face of its enigmatic magnetism. Here, the past and present coalesce, offering a glimpse into the mesmerizing journey of our planet.
Must visit place. Lake area is big. On the circumference some Hemadpanthi temples are available. These temples were built by kings in the Chalukya dynasty. I will recommend a day's time to visit this place. The lake area is open from sunrise to sunset each day.
Awesome experience
This place is most beutiful and it have scientific and historic importance as well as it is 2nd salty water crater it is near buldana in lonar. We really enjoyed.
Lonar is a mesmerizingly beautiful place famous for the Lonar crater and the lake formed due to a meteorite hitting the earth around 52, 000 years ago. This 6,000 feet wide and 500 feet deep lake is, therefore, an important source of scientific research and educational importance. It is the only salt water lake in the basaltic rock in the world. The area is also surrounded by a lot of flora and fauna which makes the place even more beautiful. There is also a famous Gomukh temple located at the boundary of the lake where snakes and other animals like fox, mongoose, deers can be spotted. Daitya Sudan temple, another temple located in Lonar is very famous for its architectural style as it reminds of the world famous Khajuraho temples.
Even though it's far from main ch. sambhajinagar and due to distance people may not include it in there itinerary but as per me this place is a must visit. It's one of the nature's wonders. The lake is gorgeous to say the least and the 360 degree view from top of the tower is mesmerising. One can take a little walk around the jungle as well. There's very famous gomukh temple as well nearby which is again very beautiful. The temple is visible from the lake tower. Parents must definitely bring their kids here to educate them about this marvel of nature, geography, history, and science and we all must be so proud to have this kinda rare lake in our country.
P.S: don't come wearing footwears . As it would be very difficult to climb the tower wearing footwear with heals and chappals. Come weals comfortable shoes

A must visit place in India for geography, history and nature lovers. It's a pride that we have such a wonderful place in India. Everything is good about this place like the views, Ramsar site for bird lovers, tens of old temples, peaceful and non-touristy location.
However the roads connecting this place still require loads of improvement. Also, the village is very impoverished and backward.
