3. How come the water is so sweet?( compared to elsewhere in the village)
4. Also for years this sweet water is making its way into the lake, yet there is no decline in the salinity of the lake, how come?
Numerous attractive architectural edifices in and around. Do spend time on the steps watching the sun set. It is truly a magical moment.
This was the starting point of the downhill trek to the lake shore. The beginning steps are quite steep but after that the trek eases a bit. On the way is the sanctuary gate through which you pass and are greeted with the ruins of an ancient stone temple. Further on, through the jungle trails brings you to the law shore. It's not the cleanest of sights and definitely not stepping into. What is awe inspiring is that the entire lake is surrounded by the forests and hills. It's quite a sight. As you lumber on, you'll be greeted by another stone temple ruin along the lake shore. Still ahead, will be the Devi mandir. It would take class to 3 hours for the entire trek back and forth. For those hard pressed with time, the views from the gomukh temple should be good enough.
Spiritual Place.

Nature scene. Downside is the awesome waterfall and water trail.

People generally visit Aurangabad for Ajanta Ellora but one must visit Lonar lake side and explore these ancient ruins of temples as well. So much beauty and peace exist here. Such ancient marvel of architecture. One just sit here for hours and not get bored. The vibes here match the vibes of Bateshwar temple, MP. One can trek down the long flight of stairs and reach the lake abd devi temple below. The lonar crater lake is beautifully visible from the gomukh temple compound
Amazing place to visit. Lonar Lake, also known as Lonar crater. It is one of only four known hyper-velocity impact craters in basaltic rock anywhere on Earth. It is one of only four known hyper-velocity impact craters in basaltic rock anywhere on Earth.
Must visit & guide is very important for informative discussion
This was an amazing experience. Just to visit Gomukh, it takes only 15 minutes. But to enjoy the fullness of Lonar, one should climb down and treck to the Devi mandir situated across the lake. It takes about 3 to 4 hours, but an easy one. Be quiet to catch the site of birds and if you are lucky some porcupines. Sloth bears, barking deer, neelgai, wolf etc. are the residents here. But they are too shy to come across your way.
