Limbi Barav - Stepwell, Lonar - Historical place in Lonar - Buldhana, India

Gate was closed and such an historical place was not well kept. I urge the nagar Parishad and the residents of Lonar to pay special attention to this historical place and keep it clean, so they can attract tourists ( who in turn will boost the Lonar businesses).

Lonar Lake is one of the few hyper velocity impact crater lakes in the world. India has a few of these, and this is one of those secrets. Not a soul lives in the lake due to its saline-alkaline nature, while magnetic compasses fail to hold their bearings.

Lonar is the place located in Buldhana district of Maharashtra state in India. Lonar is the site of an ancient meteor crash. It also has some spectacular old temples. "This is an old step well water reservoir". The step-well was not very large and had steps leading down to the water from three sides. The fourth side had a rather ornate balcony / viewing gallery with a large, but empty niche making me wonder if there was an idol placed for worship sometime in the past. All around the walls of the step-well were niches at regular intervals, once again empty. The water was a dark mossy green and I couldn't t make out how deep the well was or how many steps there were below the 10 exposed ones. "The stepwell is near about 05 or 06 centuries old historical place. Stepwell is the good example of water reservoir, architecture & construction also.

Very good place to spend some time with nature. To look back at the history of ancient india how this spectacular structures were made, huge stones and the art of building something amazing. Not only this one there are lots of other temples too Must visit at once in a life..
