Karim's on the third floor of the Mengon Shopping Complex, next to the Leh Jumma Masjid, appears like a low-profile place despite its prominent signage in red and white. Well, wait till you climb three flights of stairs to this cheerfully bustling place. A franchise of the famous Karim's of Delhi, you're guaranteed a place to sit in this huge hall-like space, done up with minimalist beautiful wooden trellises along the wall and on the ceiling. The focus is on the food and not the interiors or the lovely view from the tables beside the huge sliding glass window. The service is friendly without being pushy in the slightest. There's no pressure to order accompaniments or drinks. The stewards approach you, only when beckoned. I ordered a nargisi kofta(half), a khamiri roti and a kheer benaziri. The kheer benaziri arrived first, as requested, to work up my appetite. It's pre-prepared and kept in a refrigerator, so it arrived quickly. Every spoonful was delicious, with subtle sweetness, rich in coconut and dryfruits. The lunch arrived in short order. I was lucky I ordered only one khamiri roti. It was huge! A never-ending affair as I broke off pieces to dip into the lamb gravy. The nargis kofta was a mutton ball encasing a boiled egg. The half-bowl could've served two. Since, I'm a solo diner, it was quite a task finishing off the half-bowl. The dish was accompanied by an onion salad and spicy mint and coriander chutney. The chief steward, meanwhile, was just happy to be beckoned and queried about different dishes on the meat-laden menu. Unfortunately, the fish dishes listed on the menu weren't available, fresh fish being rather difficult to get this season. Neither was Karim's famous paaya soup. Never mind, the moderately-priced nargisi kofta and khamiri roti worked like a dream! One of my most memorable lunches anywhere!

Best restaurant to try mughal food in leh. Amazing quality and quantity. Price is decent. You'll get amazing biriyani here. Located in the leh market and must visit for nonveg lovers. Lovely ambience and staffs are very customer friendly. Lots of varieties in menu so must visit.

I recently dined at Karim's Leh, and unfortunately, the overall experience left much to be desired. The service was incredibly disappointing as we were repeatedly asked to switch tables for the staff's convenience. Moreover, we had to endure an extensive wait, almost an hour, for our food, and even basic amenities like water were delayed. The food, while flavorful and enjoyable, couldn't compensate for the subpar service, making it one of the most unsatisfactory dining experiences in the town.

Well I was in Leh for a couple of days. I had meals at various restaurants. But the food I had at Karim's was best. We were a group of 7, each one of us had the same review. Great food, great service. We were attended by Mr Ragib, he was quite suggestive for the famous dishes we should try. We wish him best of luck for his future.

The staff was super lazy in taking orders, we had motions the next day after eating, impacted our trip. I would never ever go to this place again waste of money no quality food. It's just the name of the restaurant but no quality food you can't compare to Delhi Karims, Leh Karim is spoiling the name. I don't have words how bad experience I had.

One of the best mughlai resturant in leh Staffs are really good. The quality of the food is also good. If you want to have north indian food and biriyani I would suggest go for Karim. It will not dishearten you. Our experience was really nice with this restaurant.. you will also get a good view of market from this resturant.

As the owner of Albaik Ladakh, I must applaud Karim's for their remarkable achievement. Recreating the authentic taste of Delhi's Karim's in the unique setting of Ladakh, with its distinct climate, water, cooking times, spice freshness, and ingredient availability, is no small feat and they have done it amazingly. It's unfortunate that some 1-star reviewers may not fully grasp the nuances of rating systems, and their expertise in food may also be questionable. Having experienced the challenges of maintaining flavor consistency in Ladakh, I understand the magnitude of Karim's accomplishment. Their team in Ladakh has managed to overcome these obstacles admirably. This has truly been one of the most exceptional dining experiences, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire Karim's team! Highly Recommended!
