A small shrine to the fallen Japanese soldiers, and what is know, about 65k of them. As with other things Japanese, this is a clean, well maintained shrine and an important important piece of shared Indo-Japanese history. Hope more people come and pay their respects here.

Nice place to visit for people interested in history. There's a museum as well with some interesting articles and items related to ww2 time period like some bombs and grenades recovered later during a expedition I think. it's a paid entry (very nominal). They also have a audio visual for those who are interested. Overall a good place to stop by.

It is well maintained and it is a very nice place to have an overview of the Battle of Imphal during World War - II. It also has a brief overview of the people of Manipur. It has a small shop at reception where you can buy things as souvenir using cash payments. Another thing that may not be important for many: it has a separate toilet in case you need it for use.

Historical place. Only for people who knew history and like to know about history appreciate the place. It has a beautiful park so you can sit and relax. Many Japanese people visit the place.

India Peace Memorial (Japanese War Memorial) is on the Maibam Lokpa Ching (Red Hills), a historical site of World War II, located in Nambol, Bishnupur district of Manipur, where the war between the British forces and the Japanese forces took place in the WWII. Constructed by the Government of Japan (by order Govt. of Manipur) with the theme "Preserve Peace Everywhere". "One of the most fierce battles of the Second World War was fought on 'Lotpaching' accounted as Red Hill or Point 2926. This Japanese Imperial Army comprised 2nd battalion, 214th Regiment and some troops of 215th Regiment off the 33rd division while the British side were units of the 17th Indian division, whose headquarter was close to the Red Hill. The Japanese attacked and occupied parts of the Hill and Maibam Valley on May 21, 1944. Intense an historic battle followed for nine days with a combined British effort involving the infantry, armour, artillery and air attacks, which ended on May 29 with the evacuation of the remaining Japanese soldiers."
