Jahaj Bari. a private residence is a most popular spot near Belur Math, situated at 6/20, Raj Krishna Kumar Street, Belur Math, Howrah -711202 (Coordinates: 22deg38'3"N 88deg20'53"E); literally meaning ship type house, is a locality in the interior of Belur, around a mile's walk from Belur Math. In eighties and early nineties of last century this premises was fully decorated with a big surrounded garden of flowers and various trees. During the famous Kali Puja organized by Late Prabhat Bhattacharya it has been opened for all visitors. But now it not open for the local people neither tourists.
Nothing interesting for tourist,once it was a garden with a floating house looked like a ship,now it becomes old and since it is private property ,it is locked now.But it have the possibility to becomes a floating hotel or water park . However now it looks like a small forest around a pond.
It's was a great place and a major tourist attraction during kali puja...now there is no maintenance and it's closed for public viewing
It's a place where u find a home built on a ship so a good place to visit but u won't be able to get in as the place is now not open for visitors
