All departments are academically excellent and variety of patients and hands on is very good . There no toxic culture unlike many other places . This is the Howrah district hospital family welcomes you with proper care , learning and teaching n treatment.

As a DNB institution, academics is pretty good, specially in department of general medicine. Patient inflow rate is also good. Average 100 patients get admitted everday in medicine department (combining male and female ward). Case variety is also good. Medical Colleges in Kolkata also help to get investigations done for academic cases. Now it has collabed with JIS group for starting MBBS curriculum. There are interns posted also in regular basis. Faculties are always available for teaching and discussion.

huge area..but very crowded. opd coupon counter opens at 9am. opd starts from 10am. rs.2 coupon for 3 days...each day coupon needs to be signed before going to opd. after 3 entry new coupon have to be bought from counter. opd departments : general, medicine, infectious diseases, anaesthesia, surgery, gyno, ortho, plaster room, psyco, eye, ent, bone, skin, child specialist. other services : x-ray, blood test, usg, male/female ward, psyco ward, emergency, ambulence. hospital superintendent room is in "new building" ground floor. new building office time : 10am to 5pm.(mon to fri)...10am to 2pm(saturday). xrox shop available outside main door..opposite side of the road..walk 1min towards howrah police head office.

Cleanliness is not maintained at all and the behavior of the staff is also not good, Even clean drinking water is not available for the patient which is your fundamental right, The West Bengal government should maintain the hospital properly, the way Delhi's government hospital is properly maintained.

Treatment is okay okay type... Doctors are well qualified but due to huge nos. of patients they don't get enough time for one patient. But administration must take care about the hygiene and cleanliness. Due to lots of patients and their relatives visit hospital in single days hygiene is very poor. Nurses and junior doctors are also well trained but as I said earlier due to huge no. of people they don't have much time for one patient. I visited here lots of time . So, here treatments, doctors and staff are okay but due large no. of people they can't act on a systematic way . And again hygiene is very poor, so govt., administration must take necessary action for it. As hygiene is most important for the patient health. And lastly, we as a visitor or patient must take care about the hygiene by maintaining cleanliness . And govt. have to take necessary action for act on systematic way .

Worst hospital I've ever seen in my whole life . Don't know how to treat patients properly. Most of the nurse behave rude. Doesn't take care of the patients properly. My father was admitted there but bcz of poor treatment and behavior. We had to take him back home. There's no hygiene. The place doesn't even look like a hospital. They ignored the patients who are in serious condition.
