A good museum to visit while you are in Andaman tour.
Small space! Good place to spend ur time! Here some of my favourite clicks
Small museum which is mostly objected to promote wood craft sell. The island has dedicated saw mill, and few historical memorial say Japanese bunker, bombari point
The beauty of this museum is that it is located in Chatham. The first island which was inhabited by the Brits upon survey. This island also got bombed during the second world war and there is a bomb pit inside the museum for you to see. Beware of the mosquitos. Also inside there is a very large saw mill placed which you can see and be astonished by. The forest museum has on display the different kinds of woods, forest produces, it touches briefly upon the anthropology of the tribes as well. There is a quaint cafeteria for you to try where you can eat what the mill workers ate in their time. You can also catch the boats from the Chatham Jetty to Bambooflat/viper island
Forest Museum is location with the Chatham Saw mill. It displays many kind of wooden artifacts and hand crafts. There are a lot of variety of products made from different kind of woods. The colour of the woods are also note worthy. A brief history and description of the entire island is given here. No separate entry fee is there. And you can spend 30 minutes to 45 minutes here.
One of a kind museum, you will be awestruck to witness some incredible masterpieces carved from single piece of wood. It would be great if you hire a guide to give you detailed info about the history of woods in Andaman, as it dates back to 19th century, when Brits came and started the saw mill.
It is the British time Saw mill at Chatham Island. Take guide for better understanding who charged 50 rupees per person. She will explain about different wood, how brought to the island and how cutting goes on etc. There is entry fee.
This museum is more a room filled with somebody's personal collection. Many odd collections ranging from a lot of wood made items to marine navigation equipment and a working model of a saw mill among others. The most fascinating thing I learnt here was about the state symbols of Andaman and Nicobar, which was not present in any other museum we visited there.

Very good place with well maintained. Wheel chair is accessible. Photography is not allowed inside. A program about Andaman is always showing inside a Hall. Outside of this area i. e at the adjacent area some hawkers sells some gift items which are r

The food here is Art! Over the last 10 days I have been trying different foods in and around Port Blair, but no other restaurant has been up to its match. I wish I could ship this place to my hometown, and tell everyone that this is how seafood is
This is the best hotel we have stayed at in over 8 months travelling in India. It is clean, fresh, and very comfortable, so close to the airport (looks over the runway but is not noisy) and has a kitchen where you can prepare your own meals, if you w
This is a lesser known homestay. It's walkable from airport (though a bit uphill so with luggage might prove challenging for elderly especially) And, it's nearby to almost all of Aberdeen and Port Blair tourist spots. Mr. Shakespeare was kind enough
