Chandaka dampada sanctuary - Featured Reviews (427)
The wildlife Safari as a whole is really good. You need to book a complete vehicle for entry and the booking needs to be done before hand. But the service is really awful. We booked two safaris for 7 am and 8.15 am. But when we reached there at 6.30 am no one was there. We were allowed to enter but there was no staff and the vehicle and the driver showed up only after we made a number of calls and that too at 8.30. We were however given our 2 hour worth of safari so all was well in the end.
Must visit place specially with kids. Enjoy the beauty of nature during the monsoon season. If you are lucky then you might get to see elephants. Peacock, monkeys are easily visible. Good place for birdwatching. The safari cost 1.2K for full vehicle (10 people).
The park is known for successful conservation of elephants which is the principal species here. It is also a home to a number of threatened wild animals and birds. Chandaka landscape got a sanctuary status in 1982 notification of Government adjacent to temple city, Bhubaneswar popularly known as pachyderm country.
Actually we went early in the morning and it was taking time to open, so without waiting for the same we went to deras dam.
Lovely placee. But there are only 3-4 elephants and if you're lucky then you'll be able to spot any deer. There is no facility to buy any food supplements nearby, so would recommend you to carry snacks with you.
Beautiful place to spend your time with nature... .. Canopy walk is one of the best to enjoy if you really love nature.... Better you choose perfect timing to visit rather than to go at any season
This is a good place and the forest is dense and cool but hardly you can see animals except 2 elephants which are tied up and stationed at fixed places. So the jungle safari is not something you can expect too much.
*There is a children's play area, skating area, walking and jogging track.
*Nature freak people must visit here
*Quite a peaceful zone and satisfying
*safari ride must try
