Cellular Jail - Historical place museum in Port Blair - South Andamans, India

A great place to visit in port Blair after the beaches. Do not hire a guide here... rather book a ticket to light and sound show that cost Rs300 a person . The light and sound show is so outstanding that it will give you goosebumps ... it is a must watch show. The place also serves to a great photo location. Try buying tickets online for both the entrance and light and sound show. Mostly remains busy throughout the day The place is highly recommended.

This is a marvel of history! If you really want your children to know how we got our freedom, this is the place. Infact would request each parent to do visit this place. The government has maintained it beautifully. I had visited this 22 years ago but now the quality of light and sound show is international level. Cost is merely Rs300. Morning jail tour coat 200 with guide and entry fees is just Rs50. Some portion of the jail is now under government aided hospital.

Le plus bel endroit a visiter sur l'ile. Un lieu tres bien entretenu et tres propre. L'entree est a 100rps par personne et vraiment pas chere. Beaucoup de belles photos a voir sans oublier le sons et lumieres le soir. Nous recommandons vivement ce haut lieux comme numero un a visiter.

One of the best historical places in India. One must visit cellular Jail for the story behind the jail and our respected freedom fighters. The light and sound show of the jail is so astounding that can make you emotional at that time and also after the show. Respect Jai hind

It is an incredible place, every Indian must visit this place at least once in their lifetime. It humbles you down by the bravery of the freedom fighters. It's because of them that we get to be experience the freedom today. Salute to them!
