Personally I don't like much Persian food.
By look they have the appeal of being so tasty but when you taste it, it's simply bland. It looks spicy but in taste it's little sweet, very little spicy.
However, I have tried such foods in Afghani restaurants in Delhi, never liked much.
Thought it would be different in Bangalore but it was same.
The restaurant is in a nice location but not much maintained.
*If you don't like spicy foods then this must be your place to go.
Was very stoked about trying out some good Persian food, and considering the other reviews, we decided to try it anyway, setting our expectations mildly.
We went for the Mirza Ghasemi which is an eggplant dip with eggs and tomato, served with fluffy yummy naan and this was the most interesting part of the meal for me. Mutabal which was a yoghurt based eggplant dip (also served with naan) was alright, Kobideh (mutton) kebabs and saffran rice fell short in terms of flavour. The kebabs didn't have the texture I was expecting and the blandness of the food was quite significant, that I had to be shady and ask for some spicy chutney to mix it up a bit. We washed all this down with some Persian tea, which for the untrained tea drinker, feels pretty much like black tea.
Ayda was a colossal disaster for many reasons. Ever since the Persian restaurant Sufi located above Koramangala shut Bangalore had never had a good Persian restaurant.
Ayda have been on my wish list as a potential alternative goto Persian place. For some reason I never made it to it for years. Though we have been planning to go there per covid, we only got the chance now.
Sadly there isn't a thing that is great about them. The place is in bad shape and the food was all below average. They were not able even get Hummus or Fatoush right. Kebaabs where not well cooked either. The brain they served almost felt as an onion only dish.
I really wanted them to be good but I wouldn't suggest the place.
The food was quite authentic. Although, the mutton curry was a little too saucy. The rice that came with the curry was great. Chicken starter was just brilliant.
My friend and I visited this restaurant for lunch. The kababs were juicy and the biryani was flavorful. The ambience was especially lovely with Persian vibes.
My first time here.
To start off had the lime soda & water.
Ordered the kebab platter - which included chicken kheema, Tikka and beef, rice and gravy. Requested the beef to be served separately which they did. Overall I would give only 3 as rating. It was a decent meal. The meat could've been more tender and rice little more hotter.
Clean & neat place. Spoon & fork were given in a hot water, which was good.
A one time go.
Le riz et la sauce sabzi sont extraordinaire mais j'ai pas aime le kebab
Located at Church street, this place offers great Persian cuisine maintaining the authenticity...
There is both indoor and outdoor seating available... You are also allowed to smoke outside... Do try out the Special Persian platter where you can taste a mix of all the kababs...
