I recently had the opportunity to explore the botanical garden, and I must say, the experience was quite enjoyable. The tranquil atmosphere and abundant greenery create a peaceful ambiance. However, it's worth noting that the battery-operated transport within the premises is currently out of service. As a result, if you intend to fully explore the area, be prepared to cover a distance of around 6 km on foot.

Very good environment, nature enthusiasts will have a good time here. The great Baniyan tree is the main attraction of this ecological reserve. Also many different species of trees and plants can be seen. There is a special nature observation zone mainly a dense forest where you can visit but beware of snakes. Overall a great place to take your loved and nature enthusiasts ones. Entry fee - 30 rs per head only Timing - 8 am to 5 pm Monday closed

Good ambience for quiet time and feels really good once alone. It was really nice to be there with a good rain. New Bhool bhuliya is good represntation of forest in compact manner .Overall nice experience. A bit can be done on maintenance part (understandable due to monsoon). Rest everything is fine and a day is enough if you really love the nature.

The Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Garden, previously known as Indian Botanic Garden and the Calcutta Botanic Garden, is a botanical garden situated in Shibpur, Howrah near Kolkata. They are commonly known as the Calcutta Botanical Garden and previously as the Royal Botanic Garden, Calcutta. The gardens exhibit a wide variety of rare plants and a total collection of over 12,000 specimens spread over 109 hectares. It is under Botanical Survey of India (BSI) of Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. I visited this place at the very last minute before it was closing. The place has some amazing view points where you can just sit back and relax in nature. Well there are some couples trying to have some intimate time, if you look past it this place has so much to it. The ticket price to enter was 10 per head. They have a still photo price too which is 20 INR. They have a cafeteria I didn't visit the cafeteria tho.

The place was very good as I have seen 20 years back but the attitude of the recent stuffs are horrible. They thought that this is their own property and they to not bother about the visitors. They must have to teaches the importance of this place with respect to heritage and tourism. For example, they do not permit us to take photographs outside the gate before purchasing the entry tickets and there is no respect to show and about the place. Someone asked why should they go inside.... and they do not bother to tell anything... just go and see is the gesture.... they only treate this property as a private park for the local couples and gurd them for some ill intension. People want to visit this place and who have observed such attitude of the staff in roll must be reported for the change. We all are responsible for keep eyes on our nation heritage and not let they spoil due to someone's I'll attitude. Thank you.

Best place for a morning walk. The Great Banyan tree, well trimmed lawn, calm hoogly river and lakes, large trees, palms make this place not less than a paradise.

A very beautiful and silent place besides river Ganga. You can find peace of mind. You must spend 3 to 4 hours to visit all the places. It has best views from rain to winter when many plants grows but also in summer I found the place worthy to visit. A beauty of nature between all the concretes. The place opens for visiting at 8 am and closes at 5:30pm(ticket counter close at 4:30 pm).
