Good for one time visit. The large chess piece at the front with the chess board is a good site to take a few photos/ selfies. The museum itself is small and it feels more like a chess-related art gallery. There are some innovative chess boards and art pieces. However, there is nothing about Hall of Fame; I didn't see any exhibits of photos or artifacts of famous chess players. No chess history either.
Fantastic place to learn and enjoy! The exhibits are fascinating, the building is charming, and the staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Give it about two hours, check out the chess club across the street, and enjoy lunch or a drink at one of the many places nearby.
Visited the World Chess Hall of Fame during the Metallica takeover weekend in November 2023. It is free but relies on donations to keep running so bring cash when you come. There are 3 floors of various exhibits and a robust gift shop. The world's largest chess piece is proudly displayed in the front of the museum and you several chess games, too. I personally liked looking at the museum's website to see myself on the Nest camera and grabbing a screenshot to show my mom 😂 The exhibits we visited had a lot of really artifacts. I definitely recommend visiting!
Wonderful place for chess enthusiasts. On exhibition is a wide history and variety all things related to chess including obscure chess boards. The staff were courteous and knowledgeable on all three floors of the museum. They have a nice gift shop also that is interesting with high end chess boards and pieces that are selling in the thousands of dollars. Just to note they do have lower priced items that are affordable and are a good deal.
Emily was 1st contact person cheerful and polite. Facility was clean and well kept. Employees and volunteers were more than eager to answer questions. 3rd floor was a place for kids to get to know chess and do other fun things. Highly recommend a visit 👌 👍
As a chess lover this is chess heaven. Alot of pricey and unique boards. Also includes a free museum that provides information about the history of chess and it's influences in music. And if you're with someone who also plays chess there's a giant chess board outside.
Fascinating museum. The exhibition on the first floor in August 2023 was on the connections of famous musicians, composers, and actors AND chess. if you're a chess player, you must stop. If you're looking for unique chess sets this is a place to visit. Interactive areas woth headphones to hear music, interview, reciting of a poem etc. Lovely museum. Support small museums.
What a find! I was not expecting the caliper of exhibits and the amount of interest I had at this museum. Worth a visit!

The Arch is cool, the Museum is AMAZING. Well done. So informative. Much more than basic Arch information/history - but great insight on life lessons from the past - for all ages. Parts are interactive and entertaining. Great for children, great for
First of all, special thanks and congratulations to the owner for the collection. Checked out The Moto Museum recently and it's definitely more of a cool spot for events than a traditional bike museum. The best part? It's free to get in, which is pre
Very lovely Miniature Museum. I enjoy the printed stories that tell the story of the collectors. The stories make the collections personal. We each picked our favorite collection. It was a fun trip!
Very nice well done displays! Clean and well maintained museum! I was impressed by how much they had on display! Nice shop to browse through also. We didn't have a long time to spend there but if you only have 30 min or 2 hrs. its worth it!
This has got to be one of the most unique places I have ever been. Literally everywhere you look is a place to climb or slide. A lot of this place is mosaic tile that is absolutely beautiful. We spent around 3 hours here and didn't get to see the who
I loved everything about this museum. The history, the art, the fun activities. The only disappointment I had was that all the stations to create our own blues album weren't working, so I never got my completed album via email even though we did all
Museum is small, but fun with everything being hands on.. a lot of role based things. Great for ages 10 and under, but even the adults learned a few things. We went as a large group and saw the Doc presentation theater... the host was great with the

Iâve been with BarreSTL since April 2023, and Iâm so glad I found this studio! I was very in to working out before pregnancy, but had felt defeated after 4 births in 5 years. I felt like I could never make time for working out and getting strong

Cafe de Blaire is a hidden gem in downtown St. Louis. My husband and I ordered caramel machiatto and found this to be finely balanced medium to strong coffee. The kids ordered the handmade ice cream in waffle cones. The ice cream is super creamy and
Out of this world experience to be able to hear from the chef before each course is served. As a fan of Missouri history, to learn and taste recipes that are over 100 years old is a gift. Restaurants like this usually only exist in New York or overs
