We stayed at this hotel because my daughter's school chose it for the Williamsburgfield trip. It has so many rooms that can accommodate school trips easily. It's location is very convenient for the places to visit, restaurants, and gas stations. Has several activities for kids and families and its play grounds are well-maintained. Breakfast is mainly cold items along with two types of warm breakfast sandwiches which are too small even for kids. Rooms are very old. Bathrooms are somehow renovated but the beds are so old and the mattresses are the things really need to be changed. My daughter and her friend slept on one bed and my wife and I slept on another bed but couldn't move till morning. Whoever wanted to turn, had to wake up the other one to be alert and keep the balance on the bed. I'm not joking, it was like an unbalanced trampoline. We asked other parents in the morning, they had the same funny and scary situation. Overall, it was a good stay.

We stayed at the Woodlands for the convenience during Illumination weekend. We had a room with two double beds. I will say Double beds are too small. Equivalent to a twin plus about a foot. There was also a chair that was a pull out bed. There was a very mini fridge. Also daily housekeeping. The room was very clean. Outdated but clean. The room was quite small though. One two drawer dresser and a small closet. No cabinet in the sink area. The lobby was nicely decorated and had a fireplace with many seating areas to play games or visit. The staff was polite and efficient. I only had breakfast there one morning. It was the usual hotel breakfast but a step up. The breakfast room was large and bright. There was a variety of fruit and bread items plus grab and go hot breakfast biscuits. Overall the Woodlands was nice enough. It’s within walking distance on a safe path to the historic area. Also Steps from the visitor center to catch the bus. It does need updating though. Some investment needs to be made in this CW resort hotel. It’s a good option for families. There’s pool and play areas for the summer. Overall it’s a good for a convenient reasonably priced ( compared to the other CW properties) hotel option. I’ll be honest though, for about the same price I usually stay at the Marriott at Fords Colony in a one bedroom with living room villa with full kitchen and it also has pools and activities.

Overall the hotel is OK. ||Very clean in the room and common areas. Daily housekeeping available too which was nice. ||The lobby is very attractive with a lot of sitting areas for gathering or games or reading. ||There’s a fireplace too to sit near. ||The staff was polite and efficient. ||The breakfast was nice. Continental with some hot grab and go items, but better than most hotel breakfasts. ||It’s steps from the Colonial Williamsburg visitor center to catch the bus or a 10-15 minute walk into the historic area. So it’s very convenient. ||Definitely the budget option of the CW Hotels options. Reasonably priced compared to the very overpriced Lodge. ||This is a kid and pet friendly Hotel. ||Since it was winter, and the outside pools and play areas were closed, it was very quiet there. ||||The hotel needs updating overall though. It looked the same in the room as it did 30 years ago when I’d taken my kids. ||The regular room has two double beds. They are tiny. It’s like a twin plus maybe another 10”. It’s not big enough for two adults and even an adult and a child in one bed would be tight. ||There was a pull out chair sleeper though. ||I don’t understand the thinking behind hotels now having doubles or fulls. They’re just too small if you have a family. ||There was one small 2 drawer dresser and a tiny closet, so very little storage. ||The bathroom light was very dim. And the sink area, which had more light, had no storage at all. ||Internet was very slow. If I’d had to work from this hotel I’m not sure it would be been possible with the weak connection. ||It’s very confusing getting around inside the corridors for some reason. Took a few days to figure it out. ||The Huzzah restaurant attached has never reopened since Covid. ||It would be a nice convenience if it did, as the taverns in the historic area have limited hours, and one has closed for repairs. ||||Overall I’d say my stay was comfortable and pleasant, the hotel was very clean and the small beds were comfortable for one person. The housekeeping was good as was the front desk staff. ||I think if Colonial Williamsburg is going to call this one of their resort hotels then they need to invest in needed updates and get that restaurant re-opened.

Although this is an older hotel, it's been well maintained and is clean. Staff were super friendly, and they accept pets so we could have our dog with us. The bus picks up from the Visitor Center, which is at the hotel and we got two complimentary passes to Colonial Williamsburg! We stayed a couple of days before Christmas and had a lot of fun. We will definitely stay here again.

This is our first time staying at the Colonial Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel and Suites and we are very well pleased. The hotel and setting are lovely and very convenient to the shuttle service. Our room was very large, comfortable and had adequate storage for all of our clothes. The complementary breakfast is nice and all of the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. This is a great resort and very convenient.

This was our first time staying on a property inside of Colonial Williamsburg itself. The rooms were clean, roomy, and had nice amenities. We will absolutely be staying with Woodlands again! Everyone was extremely helpful and accommodating, which is really important for me, as I am disabled. This hotel, and especially the staff, will make your stay memorable. I can't thank everyone there enough!

This hotel was the perfect place for us and the dogs. Free daily breakfast with a couple of options and good coffee, right next to the visitor's center where you can catch the shuttle, and amazing customer service. Rooms are a little dated but still have everything you need. Shoutout to Jennifer from the front desk and Thaddeus- your kindness, professionalism, and customer service were just amazing.

Great location. Good value. Family friendly environment. Waking distance to historical sites, plus timely shuttle services. Staffs are friendly and hospitable. Will definitely return for longer stay. The only minus is weak wifi signal.

Their outdoor decor for Christmas was very nice. We ate Christmas dinner here. We were seated in their event room. They should invest in new tables, the folding table had cross bars on two side that made it rather uncomfortable for two of 4 people. F
