Pros - Friendly staff, clean environment and fairly priced.
Poor route marking makes climbing difficult. The tape is often hidden under the hold so the footing is a choose your own adventure. There are probably some great routes but honestly if I'm in the gym I don't want a headache from trying to route find. It's fun in the wild, but not great during a gym session. Good workout but it wasn't satisfying or fun. Expected a better gym given the size of the town. It's also a pretty small place and children's birthday parties get really loud, totally kills the flow of a good session.
Great for kids birthday parties or climbers looking for a mental challenge. Id go to Boston if I lived in the area personally.
Great place for team gatherings, kids birthdays. They have two locations Manchester snd Nashua. Pics are of Manchester location
Had a hard time deciding between 2 and 3 stars in this review. Here are some issues I found with the place:
1. Routes are not color coded and, instead, use tapes to indicate routes. I understand this is cheaper than having to maintain the large inventory of holds required for colored routes but it is very confusing.
2. The crash pads/mats in the bouldering area can be significantly improved. In some cases they hide the lower footholds from routes, they are not flat and in some regions near where they meet the wall they are quite dirty.
3. The V rating in this gym makes little sense. There are some supposedly hard routes that are very easy and some supposedly trivial routes that should have been more highly rated.
However, it was still fun to climb and the lady in the cashier was helpful. Though I would suggest explaining to new comers that there is a lower price for bouldering only day pass.
Would also suggest making hand lotion available (moisturizer).
Did this for a date night with my boyfriend and we had a good time. Staff made us feel welcomed as beginners. They were helpful every step of the way with clear instructions while making sure we were safe. We’re already planning a trip back
Interesting to see what gyms away from home have to offer. Can't say I'm a fan of the colored tape to denote routes, so I've gotta recommend modernization in that area. Appreciate the veterans discount. Other than the converted elevator shaft (awesome), top-rope routes were too short (realistically these are 20-30 second climbs) and not much was unique or inspiring. Super friendly staff.
Kinda disappointed with the lack of signage on the outside, kinda difficult to find. The elevator shaft is everything for this climbing gym. People are nice. But really small gym and rocks on walls are really worn. But would defo come back for the elevator shaft climbing.
It's small but the culture is definitely here, everyone is great
Great place! Went to a birthday party here and my 8 year old really enjoyed it! They have a no harness area and a harness area with belays. They also have a giant 70' climbing wall for more experienced climbers.
