The Original Mels Diner - Diner in Reno - 2100 Garson Rd, USA

Came here with my family in Black Friday and checked in at the front. It was only about. 10 minute wait time and we were seated. Our server was nice and quick. We got our food in about 10-15 minutes and I was impressed considering how busy it was. I got the corn beef hash and eggs and it was good. My wife and daughter like their meals as well. I’ll come back again and eat here again

Came here on Friday 09/01/2023. As soon as we walked in we were seated . The quality of the service was great! The only thing I didn’t like was that it took a while to get a refill on my drink after getting our food. The dishes we ordered were the Alaskan Cod and steak & shrimp. For these platters, they come with 2 sides, which they have many options to choose from. Some of the options were fries, mash potatoes, soup, salad, and corn bread. The price for the steak and shrimp is $22 and Alaskan Cod is $20. The quality of food was decent as well. They all tasted pretty decent . The steak had flavor and I didn’t need any sauce. Everything was cooked perfect. Overall, it was great experience. The good ole music gave it the great atmosphere. All the staff was nice and friendly.

Plenty of big truck and trailer parking! The folks here were very friendly! The bar sitting area is always fun to strike up new conversations with strangers. They made me a custom meal outta a couple different ones without any issues. And it was great! Thanks guys! It was great!

My dad and I needed a place to stay in reno. We stayed in Boomtown a little casino area however does have a smokey smell. Not to horrible. We stopped at Mel's dinner and it was good! I got fries and they were nice and crispy. Hot and salty. I loved them! Area was clean and they had this table jukebox which was so cute! If your staying in boomtown come try this diner.

My second time here and the food has been great both times. This trip I got the San Francisco burger. It has cheddar cheese, avocado, and big strips of thick bacon on sliced sourdough. It was the best SF burger I have had! The fries with it were perfect as well. I also had the peppermint shake, best shakes too!

I ordered room service with the QR code provided in my Boomtown hotel room. The website estimated my order would be delivered at 1:05pm. I called just after 1:30pm and was told the order would be arriving in about 5 minutes. It arrived at 1:45 pm completely cold. Pictured is a $2 side of cheese.

No phone orders for takeout. When you place an online order and they happen to be out of an item then they can't call you and let you pick something else. Why did I enter my phone number and email address when ordering if not so you can contact me. Spam. Alaskan cod was oily and soggy. I've had better at Zaxby's. No sign visible from the street. Just a tiny circle sign hidden behind trees and bushes. Located inside the casino. Nothing special here.

Great place, people, and food!! Major improvement from when first opened. Patrick, manager, and his wife have put together greatest crews I have ever seen in that, and most other, locations across the country when we travel. Miya and Naomi deserve special kudos. You feel special there, almost family, with the service and attention that's provided. Quantity and quality of food are well above the costs of the meals. We ate breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night snacks more then once and will continue. This is the best Mel's I have ever been to. Great job to all!!! Will definitely be back every time we are in the area.
