Colors of room and decor was vibrant and uplifting. Newly remodeled bathroom was a plus. Also I enjoyed not having to deal with smelly carpet due to their upgraded flooring. I enjoyed the Lazy River and nice size hot tub. The 7th floor indoor pool and hot tubs are being remodeld, so I didn't get to experience it but I look forward to going back in 2025.

*Disclaimer: Booked through Beach Vacations, room 1104. So we didn’t have to go through the front desk for anything BUT there is no public reviews on that website and some of this pertains to outside of the room which is out of Beach Vacations hands.* Room was dirty upon arrival and needed to be re-cleaned; someone came in to “clean” and it pretty much looked the same after she “re-cleaned”. Sand on the floor and dresser and dust on the dining set, hair in the shower, chips on the bed and couch, stains on the sheets and old trash still on the floor. The website stated that there would be 2 queen beds and it ended up being 2 double beds and when this problem was stated, the comment was “we don’t guarantee bed size, we only guarantee the room”. We had to go back to the office twice because there was no parking pass nor pool bands in the room. As part of checkout we as guest are supposed to load dishes in the dishwasher but there was no dishwasher or any kind of dish detergent. When this was stated to the office they said they would bring some and they did not. The people in the office were also rude when we stated our concerns they spoke as if we were inconveniencing them. Elevators were EXTREMELY SLOW and hot. You are almost guaranteed to wait 10 minutes before getting on and to stop at least 3 times while on it. If you’re on a higher floor and you have to be somewhere, you definitely need to leave an extra 10 minutes early. The indoor pools were closed which sucked because there was an EXTREME amount of kids there so it was hard to truly enjoy the one pool that they have, especially the lazy river, which kids come in and push you around rudely. The parking deck right where the hotel is, is usually full so your best bet is to park across the street in the other deck. Overall, it’s overpriced. Best thing about this hotel is the location on the beach.

My wife and I spontaneously decided to go down to MB the weekend of Labor Day with our two toddlers. Searching for a place with a decent price for one night was difficult. We usually vacation with her family and get a condo. Not needed with us and two children under 3. So my wife found this place which we've never stayed at. Booked it and hoped for the best Started reading reviews the night before and was highly concerned. Lack of cleanliness and roaches were mentioned heavily within the reviews I read. Thankfully, I can say this was not an issue for us during our stay. First thing we did was check under mattress, sheets, bed stitching, couches, you name it. One bug and we were out, and would have demanded a refund. Not one bug of any sort was found, nor eggs or feces or such As far as cleanliness goes, it was really clean too. The one area that needed some attention was where the brooms were stored (no dust pan) but overall really clean When it comes to the building it is dated. Reminds me a lot of where we vacationed as a child, Monterey Bay, right next to this Hotel. Probably owned by the same company. The pool and splash pads were nice. Not resort worthy, but nice nonetheless. Remember you get what you pay for. My review is not to say the others aren't true, I'm sure they are. But for us, it was a decent little hotel for a day trip. Most thankful we did not see roaches anywhere on the property. Not gonna lie I was highly concerned going down, but thankfully it was not a reality for us

Never again! I checked in on a Friday at around 6pm. The line was all the way back at the front door. There were only 2 front desk clerks. Tall guy with the glasses was the slowest hotel clerk I've ever witnessed. Took 45 minutes just to check in. I saw nothing on the site about the indoor pool being closed. I booked an ocean front room that was supposed to have 2 beds and a pull out sofa bed. Right before bed I realized the sofa was not a pullout. I was told to call the front desk back in the morning. I left a night early because I refused to sleep on a small couch again. The room itself was clean and the location was good. I've stayed at many resorts in Myrtle Beach and The Caravelle has BY FAR the slowest check in time. Most resorts understand that most visitors have been traveling for a long time and have more front desk clerks but not the Caravelle.

Great oceanfront efficiency. Good value for the midweek stay. Front desk was willing to work with our request for a room at a higher floor level. They were friendly and polite. Will watch for midweek specials and stay here again. The beach is nice and clean.

This place doesn't even deserve this 1 star. They shouldn't even be in business. It's hard to believe what they do isn't illegal. They charge and charge and charge you, and not what you agreed to. They have roaches.. LOTS of roaches. They trick you into thinking you are staying at the resort, but they put you back in an older run down hotel across the street. This was not made known to us. Neither were all the extra charges. They make you think you are getting a deal, when in reality you are still going to pay resort costs, without even staying in the resort building. This is sad. This is criminal. This is disgusting. Please don't waste your money. You'll end up being charged triple, while seeing roaches your entire stay. STAY AWAY, unless you can afford a good attorney.

I travel to Myrtle Beach, thinking I was staying in a resort. Not some cheap hotel. I've should've known from the complaints I was overhearing as I was checking in. Lady at the front desk was very nice and polite. My children and I headed to our rooms and oh my god......The closet door was unhinged. Bathroom door knob almost coming off. The next morning, I saw the housekeeper was by my door as we was leaving. I come back thinking we got fresh towels and this was not the case. I called for towels twice and nobody showed up, so I had to walk to the lobby myself to get more towels. Both pools were smaller than expected but me and my kids made the best of it. The beach bar was decent; servants were very polite. Later that evening, I decided to take my kids to the boardwalk. When we returned, ROACHES SCATTERED EVERYWHERE. I'VE NEVER EVEN SEEN THAT AT A MOTEL 6. I also don't like how you have to pay extra for breakfast. After all, it's suppose to be a resort. This whole place need to be shut down just for renovation.

The room was small but quite cozy and quite enough room for the 3 of us. The Kitchen was tiny but sufficient. Would have liked to have a broom and dustpan available to sweep up the sand and extra trash bags would have been nice without having to ask for them.||The bed was truly comfortable, and I slept well, AC worked great, and the beach bar was truly wonderful.

Loved the pool, loved the area. Apartment was ok.. but definitely not what we paid for. We paid for a 2 bedroom w balcony. We got a studio on bottom floor. Notified them of the error & showed our receipt and still had to pay more to get the 2 bedroom
