The visitors center is fantastic with a great rest area with well maintained restrooms. This was probably our third hike to Shovel Point. Our large family of all ages tried it the first time. It’s a decent quick hike for almost every family to the top of Shovel Point for some awesome panoramic views and pictures. Just over 1 mile round trip but with at least 180 stairs. So, it’s not an easy hike for those with bad knees or sore legs.
Fantastic Visitor Center. It really is pretty nice and probably one of the best. My only complaint is that they didn't have sunscreen in the shop. Pictures are of Shovel Point, just passed the visitor center
Its so gorgeous up here. Would recommend getting here well before midday so you have all the time in the world to hike. The shovel point trail is a ton of stairs, but so worth it at the end. Its a short hike and lovely when the fog rolls in. Stunning photos are made here.
This is a great combination rest area and visitor center. The rest rooms are 24/7 and during the day the gift shop is open selling snacks, souvenirs, maps and all kinds of useful fun stuff. Very friendly staff. There is some really nice hiking you get to from right here. Get here early though. The parking gets really full as the day draws on.
The lady working here had a lot of knowledge and information about the area. If you park at this visitor center you can reach the waterfall hike from here without paying for the entrance fee. It is a bit longer of a hike though.
If you need a state park pass grab one before you get here. There is only one person working. They work the coffee shop, gift area and park passes. The line was so long and when asked if there was help she said, “yes but they are busy in back.” (You could see them going through merchandise boxes) They can’t step out front for two minutes when the line is out the door?? Needless to say I didn’t get a park pass here. They need to staff on weekends accordingly to the season and volume of people. It’s ridiculous.
Very nice visitor center. It has a big gift shop, little museum, large bathrooms, vending machines, and much more. This is also a great building spot since it is close to the beaches and trails. Only kind of problem is some parts of the summer it could get very busy, really busy. But overall it is superior!
Park here is you are looking for waterfall trail, nice and convenient. Around 3 miles of trail with stunning view 😍 Swing bridge is must go

The cart in campsites are amazing. Very secluded/private! We had site D which was a bit of a hike from the parking lot. It took us 3 trips with the cart to bring everything to the site, but the carts are big and sturdy. We've always camped at drive-i
Great hiking trail. The views are lovely for the peak of Fall season. Bean and Bear Lakes looks clear, untouched, and majestic. Highly recommend to start early in the morning to avoid larger crowds. The loop took us 5 hours with stops to break and ta
