The cart in campsites are amazing. Very secluded/private! We had site D which was a bit of a hike from the parking lot. It took us 3 trips with the cart to bring everything to the site, but the carts are big and sturdy. We've always camped at drive-in sites in the past, and I gotta say, the beauty and privacy of the cart-in sites are well worth a little extra work. Ample edible berries along the trail--loads of ripe brambles and saskatoons. The mouth of the Baptism River as it flows into Lake Superior is beyond beautiful, and you can Wade in on the lake or river side of the sandbar. There was some severe weather during our visit. Our tent held up well, but it gave us piece of mind to know that the visitor center is open 24 hours in case we needed additional shelter. We can't wait to return again!

Beautifully maintained and decorated visitor center. Several trail options including down to the mouth of Baptism River Beach, along the rocky cliff shorelines or even waterfalls. Definitely worth the stop. They even have a small cafe on the inside!!

The visitors center is fantastic with a great rest area with well maintained restrooms. This was probably our third hike to Shovel Point. Our large family of all ages tried it the first time. It’s a decent quick hike for almost every family to the top of Shovel Point for some awesome panoramic views and pictures. Just over 1 mile round trip but with at least 180 stairs. So, it’s not an easy hike for those with bad knees or like today for my wife and I (sore legs after hiking the last few days at Grand Portage and the Canadian border).

Absolutely wonderful place. The shovel point and the baptism rivers are a must. Palisade's head is breathtaking but finding parking on a busy day or weekend is challenging/tricky. No bugs even on a summer day.

There is a great visitor center here and plenty of parking. There are also a ton to different trails and hikes to explore. The water is decently warm in the river that leads into Lake Superior, and you could definitely swim in it. Some of the falls require many stairs, so come prepared with water.

Great trails to hike, there are some closed so you need to ask beforehand to make sure you can enjoy all this park has to offer. It has camping grounds and park rangers are present all the time. In summer you'll find beautiful flowers along the trails but come with your insect repellent if you don't want to fell miserable!

Very nice area. There is a lovely walk, with many stairs down to Lake Superior. The path is very clean, and there are many views of Lake Superior. There is no handicap access as far as I can tell.

Wonderful modern building with improved restroom facilities and picnic area. Clean clean clean. Entertaining hiking trails wind along Lake Superior providing scenic overlooks and stunning vistas! Not a casual stroll if you want to go all the way to the point. Be sure to wear the right shoes and bring bug spray. Happy we went! Open 24/7
