Stone State Park is kind of a hidden gem IMO. It covers a rather large area and its hiking trails are second to none ! There are even trails for horseback riding. Plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife. I've never camped here, so I can't comment on that. Great place to soothe the soul !
One of my favorite places to hike in the area. You can make a full day out of hiking Mt. Talbot, Stone State Park, and the Dorothy Peacut Nature Center
Amazing find for the locals. I wouldn’t mind travelling to get here had I stayed farther away. Stunning city views with sit out spots to lose track of time. The drive into the park/ trails is filled with canopy of trees.. The place is vast and give a great hiking experience. You can also drive up to the best view points if you choose not to walk. I happen to also notice a camping site attached to the park but haven’t experienced it yet
Stayed overnight on a Saturday in late September. The campground had several people camping but the place was quiet and relaxing. It was only $12 to stay in a non-electric site. In our section of the campground there was a vault toilet, but a very short away and there was access to showers and flush toilets. There are some really nice hiking trails throughout the park. There is also an overlook that you can drive or walk to. We saw three cabins that were available to rent and also some picnic areas. Great state park to visit and camp in.
The park itself is nice. Good hiking. The bathrooms leave much to be desired. Definitely the nastiest vault toilet I've been in. Could only go in once. The smell of ammonia was too strong. The main bathroom was so full of spiderwebs. I get im camping. I've done it a lot. This was just not maintained at all
What a gem to stumble into! All because I was frustrated trying to find dispersed camping. Wake up to a cacophony of birds singing. They have electric and non-electric sites. The camping sites have a table and a fire pit. There are hot showers. The park is so compact, I was able to cover several of the hiking trails in a couple of hours. Trails are for hiking, biking, and horses and are clearly labeled as to their intended uses. And that brings me to another point, the whole park is clearly labeled. No shortage of signs. Thank you parks department. If you are wanting to dip your toes into the sports of mountain biking or backpacking, I would come here to practice. The only negative; the camp sites are really close together. I was lucky to be here during the week. And, they do have cute little air conditioned cabins for rent.
We had a very nice time at park. Did a short weekend there. Hiking, little biking and broke out our cameras. We camped at the small campground which was nice. But be warned site 10 has water run off coming from the hill. Possibly coming from shower house area. Not a good spot and site 9 had water around fire pit area too. Our 31ft toy hauler fit into site but tight squeeze and would not of fit in other spots in camp ground except for site 6-8 or 12. So just FYI for others. It was a beautiful little park we enjoyed a lot. Just the water in our camp site that gave the overall rating a 4.
Nice drive , Beautiful overlooking with lots of different views. Benches to seat on to watch sunset.

Anne was absolutely amazing from the first time I spoke with her, through the duration of the 8 weeks. When my Daughter was awarded a Summer Internship and we were responsible for finding housing for 8 weeks in Iowa, to say I felt over whelmed was a
I've never had a bad experience there from my early childhood memory when it was a movie theater, to musicals, to concerts, and the symphony. The staff are very professional and it's even nice to come back and see their familiar face!
I was in town for a month, Abby and the team have created an amazing environment that is friendly, motivating, and challenging. Every coach I worked with was focused on form and safety. Itâs been more than a year since I had last done CrossFit, Coa
One of the best coffee shops in Sioux City and probably the oldest in the area. Worth checking it out. Amazing food made with fresh ingredients. A big range of signature coffee drinks, cold brew, iced coffee, iced tea, Vietnamese coffee, you name it,
