I've been a member at Speakeasy Pasadena for two months now, unfortunately committed to a one-year membership. Despite having essential workout equipment, the gym is consistently messy, especially the weight rack where plates and barbells are haphazardly scattered, as members rarely rerack anything. Frustrated with this, I shared my concerns with the former manager, Jay, who responded defensively and dismissively, suggesting I could cancel my membership at any time but displaying a lack of interest in addressing the issues. This negative experience led me to avoid the gym for a week as I tried to cancel my membership, only to find out that cancellation requires payment for the remaining time in the contract. The shower facilities were another disappointment, with freezing temperatures and cramped space, posing a potential hazard. When inquiring about the shower's repair, I encountered unhelpful and rude responses from the staff, highlighting poor client service skills. Since then, Jay has been fired, leaving the gym without a manager. The issues persist, with weights and barbells still scattered, showers remaining cold, and even overflowing. The parking area has become a haven for the homeless, and overall client relations continue to be nonexistent. The staff are often rude, and guest are met with a similar attitude. Despite lowering prices, the gym is overcrowded, and the focus seems more on social media appearances than actual member satisfaction. Save yourself the frustration and money – look for alternatives elsewhere. The $29 price tag is not worth the numerous issues and lackluster experience at Speakeasy Pasadena.

Great gym ! Love this place. The environment is super chill. All the staff are very nice and the gym is always clean. I come to this place 5 times a week. Great place. Thanks speakeasy.

Good gym and updated equipment. I’m an early riser and the gym opens at 5am which is great. Shoutout to the front desk employee, Jimmy. He gives 10/10 customer service, he’s always helpful to new and existing clientele, and he’s a huge reason for the continued success of speakeasy. Wouldn’t be the same without him

It's not a good gym or membership policy. The gym environment is disrespectful,lacks etiquette, and if you happen to have a contract membership with them, you can't opt out of it. They obligate you to stay till it's over instead of paying a fee to get out. Members and trainers are the worst. The club music is ridiculous and annoying. If you are a person who trains to obtain results and is looking for a great workout environment, this is not the gym for you. Not to mention how crowded it gets and the lack of plate weights there is for every piece of equipment there is in the gym. Absolutely, I don't recommend anyone coming here.

Speakeasy is a 10/10!!! The ambiance is great. Super fun colorful lighting. They have two inside spots and one outdoor spot, also a dark room for cardio.

Garbage gym. Messy. Old equipment. Rude staff. Horrible, over-loud music and terrible lighting. Dirty bathrooms. Crowded. Absolute awful culture here. They are uninterested in you or in being helpful in any way. If you want to cancel they will try to squeeze as much money out of you as possible. Not worth a penny of your money.

Speakeasy is fantastic gym love people the vibes most importantly the employees very nice at greeting new comers ! Love the equipment most especially the bench machines. Machines are always clean and maintained.

I love walking in here because I’m transported into another world- of goal setting athletes, people from all walks of life trying to improve themselves. Instantly I’m reminded of the best parts of working out. Plus the club vibe makes me want to move and give it my all… sometimes I even dance while lifting weights. Great employee crew here is the bonus.
