Must-visit LA hiking spot with views of the Hollywood sign. Two trail options (one is easier and one is harder)…even the ‘easier’ trail is strenuous as it’s up hill for awhile. Make sure you know what entrance you are wanting to enter from and put the correct address in for that entrance. I prefer to go on weekday mornings as it gets very busy here as it’s a popular tourist spot. Street parking can be challenging on the weekends.
The views here are pretty amazing, but being out of town I’m not sure if this is the correct entrance to the trail. Either way, it worked. The trail is about an 30 minutes up from this point to the peak at a decent pace. Late august seems like a good time to make this trek, lots of other people (but not too many) also adventuring in the good weather.
Definitely a cool spot. Parking sucks, but we found one on Franklin.
There are a few trails, we stayed on the paved one, mostly up hill, but damn, the view is amazing!!!
I use to hike all the time in AZ but since moving to So.Cal did not get a chance to do as often. Runyon Canyon Hike is nice an easy hike for beginners with marked sign and plenty place to rest on the trail, views are amazing. Highly recommend it to everyone.

Great Park in a Safe Neighborhood! This park has lawn bowling, a practice golf course, & a huge jungle gym for kids of all ages.. The people here are kind & courteous. The park also has ample parking which loops around the park itself.
For plane spotters and airline enthusiasts, this little free public park near the airport is a must visit and worth traveling to LA for. One can enjoy the aircraft as they flyby for landing at runway 24R at LAX. It's an absolute thrill.

The park is a lot of fun for young kids. Usually take my 15 month old to play and enjoy the swings. Best part of the part is that all of the toys and swings are in the shade during the mornings.
