We decided to stop in on a Thursday morning and thankfully it wasn't crowded which it tends to get. We were seated right away and greeted by our server.
The server was very nice, witty and funny she had my daughter cracking up and she interacted with us.
Food: the food came out pretty quick. This is such a good dinner that's affordable and delicious. I ordered eggs, potatoes and toast, my daughter chicken tenders and fries which was made from real chicken breast, hubby ordered French toast, eggs, potatoes and sausage. Everything was sooooo good. No matter what time you come in you can order anything off of the menu.
Parking: I'm glad the parking was extended so they now have two lots. A small one in the back of the building and a bigger one to the right of that one.
Paying: This is a cash only establishment so make sure you bring cash or use the ATM at the front of the diner.
If you like old school diners with good food, friendly staff and juke boxes this diner is for you. I would highly recommended and we'll definitely be back.
Barbara was AMAZING. They only take cash and they are very well priced. I had the steak gyro and my fiancee had the mushroom Swiss burgers. Both were fantastic and the mashed potatoes were spot on. Root beer floats are good. I honestly had a 💯 amazing experience. It was a nice reprieve from sitting in the family lounge at the hospital and it is in walking distance of Shady Side hospital. 10000/10 recommend.
We were recommended this diner and it was the best experience ever!
Staff were excellent , really friendly and helpful with things to do in Pittsburgh as we had just arrived.
Food was AMAZING! We ordered the pancakes- banana with choc chip (yummy!) smores ( yummy!) and choco loco( yum)
Didn’t cost too much and really great atmosphere. Best meal ever since arriving! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Me and my girlfriend were in pittsburgh because she had a check-up scheduled at UPMC. We searched for a local diner and found this AWESOME place! Breakfast was great ESPECIALLY my blue berry pancakes 🙌🏾 We will definitely stop by again next time we are in pittsburgh. My only surprise was they don’t accept credit cards so bring cash 💰 (they do have an atm 🏧 machine).
Was recommended to us from the staff at the Family House while my son was in town for a his 6 week chemo treatment. The food was fantastic, the service was ok, the atmosphere was like that of an old retro dine, small and quaint. the customers were very friendly. Our server was a little slow didn't keep asking us how everything was . This place is cash ONLY!!!!!
Great Diner experience I’ve been Going here for 50+ years when they were on the other side of the street in the old airstream type stainless steel diner. That’s how long I’ve been going here the food and the service have not changed it’s excellent place to eat at an old diner style restaurant. Prices are extremely reasonable. Great place for comfort food and some Greek dishes. Don’t hesitate to try it.
Great, friendly, and quick service. Typical diner food. Comfort food at its best! They do offer several Greek dishes and specials. I definitely need to give those a try. My daughter said the Coconut Cream Pie is amazing and it is!
Visited while a family member was in the hospital nearby. Nice diner from another era that has a variety of food a d serves breakfast all day. Staff was friendly and attentive. I noticed the cooks were able to keep up even as seating began to fill up.
