Love 🎃🦋⛲️🩷🩵🩶🧡 Love 💕 Love 💖💚 Reiman Gardens every time I visit!! Aka ways amazing. Floral, sculptures, events, fountains, layout, interactive events. All truly wonderful to experience.
This year I attended Spirits in the Garden 🪴and it was enchanting and so fun 🤩
Lots and lots of pumpkins, free candy, wild chemistry 🧪 and so much beauty. They had films projected into the outdoor areas with lots of fun photo ops and a giant cornucopia.
Really special treat. I went with family and friends. It was very special. The dancers and other entertainment was well designed done for a seasonal event.
Rieman Garde💐 is located at 1407 University Blvd., right next to Jack Trice Stadium in Ames. It's a great place for relaxing family fun, and this place would make for a great first date. They have a refreshment area to sit, sip, and nibble on snacks. They also have some items for sale as souvenirs, but they can be pricey. An inside butterfly 🦋 garden is a favorite for many people. Programs and classes are available as well. The gardens themselves are beautiful. Trails and paths wind through the entire park, inviting you into a wonderland type environment. There always seems to be something going on, either a theme or a featured sculpture; things like that. During the winter, of course, it can be very slow. Right now, however, there's something very special going on: Winter Wonderscape!❄️ It's a magical display of colors and lights🌟 that are simply amazing. If you can walk the entire grounds, you will find awe-inspiring displays throughout. Put on your coat, hat, and gloves, then go explore the sights. The cold, fresh air will leave you refreshed, relaxed, and ready for a cup of hot chocolate!🍵 You are welcome to bring your own stroller, wheelchair, or motorized personal mobility scooter. Please visit their website and read "More Info & Tickets" section. There's plenty of free parking right on site. Due to the price of the tickets, I am only giving this a three star rating. If you can afford it, it will provide you with a five star experience.
We went to the butterfly exhibit during the day and then came back for Spirits in the Garden the same night.
We have visited many butterfly exhibits over the years. The butterfly exhibit was nice and impressive considering it's in Iowa where the temps get frigid.
Spirits in the Garden is unlike anything I've ever seen before. There are thousands of carved pumpkins lit up. Since my son attends ISU I got the inside scoop that volunteers draw the images one week, gut the pumpkins the following week, and the week it opens carve the pumpkins. Some of the fun is trying to figure out who or what is on the pumpkins. Everything from Cookie Monster to Frankenstein, Spock to Tinkerbell and so very many more! It's a family friendly event too. Many kids and not scary at all. I look forward to visiting again in the future!
Reiman Gardens did an outstanding job coordinating Spirit in the Gardens! We loved it and enjoyed the amazing talent of pumpkin carving artists. We booked tickets in advance and entered during our assigned time with no wait. An extensive FAQ was included in the email with the ticket reminder and that was very helpful. The only recommendation I would make is there was no staff attending the pumpkins along the path. Unfortunately some unruly kids were running around the electrical cords and unplugged some of the lights (no parents to be found!). It might be helpful to have some staff members scattered in the area to help re-plug lights etc. Not sure what you can do about bad parenting. Great job carvers!
This is a great place to visit in Ames. They decorate for all of the holidays, so it is fun to visit multiple times a year. My family recently visited for the winter holiday lights and everyone across multiple generations had a great time. The outdoor area is large and all of the walkways were lit with different themes of lights.
If you're a nature lover and need a good hidden gem for your wedding venue in Iowa you need to consider this place!! It photographs like a dream!
This is more than worth the trip!! Everything from the butterflies to the flowers is perfect here. The best botanical garden I've ever been to!
Butterfly garden was amazingly peaceful and wonderful. The 'Glass in Flight' exhibit really added to the already beautiful grounds. Great place to visit!
