This place is such a unique experience! The cave is beautiful and I am so thankful that it is shared with the public. The only way to access the cave/saloon is by shuttle (a pick up truck with stairs to the bed and bench seats). The wait time at the shuttle stop was pretty quick, even at peak visiting time on a Saturday. The food was delicious, service was great and atmosphere was awesome! Can’t wait to come back!

This place is amazing! It is very unique and is a beautiful venue located in the cleft of a mountain. It's almost a cave. I visited on a very hot August day and it was so cool and inviting. The food is delicious and there are large portions at great prices. At night, there is live music or karaoke. This place has been open for many years and I had never heard of it. Don't pass up the opportunity to visit. It is well worth the time.

This is definitely a popular place. If you mention the area, someone is going to recommend eating at the Rattlesnake Saloon. We came for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant wasn't busy, but the campground was swarming with ATVs and dirt bikes. After a short wait, we were taxied down to the rock shelter in which the restaurant is built. No water was flowing over the rocks, but the place was still cool to see. The service was good, but the food was really lackluster. The cheese sticks were standard frozen/fried cheese sticks. Not bad, but $9 for 5 is pretty steep. "The Duke", the popular "Rustler" burger with fried jalapeno and bacon added, really tasted like a microwaved gas station burger with pre-cooked bacon added. The "Buckaroo", a ham, turkey, and cheese, was equally unimpressive. I would be willing to pay more for a great dining experience in a cave, but this place is all atmosphere, no food. It's worth experiencing once, but I'll probably not be back.

On a hot day, even the outside seating was nice and cool. My brother in law did say that his nachos were really stale. He was disappointed. My BBQ sandwich was good, salad was nice cool and fresh. Service was good.

Ride in the taxi down to saloon (the back of pickup truck, friendly driver) was ready for some good food and cold beer, no beer served until 5, so that was a bummer!! Food was served very quickly, almost the feeling it was precooked.. was quite a distance and probably won't go back.. bikers beware of fresh new pavement, loose gravel, and stop sign on a hill..

Very pet friendly. Service was outstanding. They even brought a water bowl for our dog and a separate plate for him to eat. You can not take your pet into the gift shop however. Take a few bucks with you the driver that takes you from the parking lot to the saloon works for tips. We ordered the tombstone platter and it was massive. The 2 of us ate all we could and left with 4 to go boxes. Lol. Great food great atmosphere.

Fabulous onion rings, generous portions, really cool atmosphere and live music! We arrived at 4:30, 5 minute wait for the taxi, food arrived within 15 minutes. Seating in the cave included ~40 tables, each table can seat 8, you also have a choice to eat inside the saloon.

What an incredible place! I discovered the Rattlesnake Saloon while planning a road trip from Georgia to New Orleans. It was a little out of the way, but a restaurant in a cave? I had to try it out! It did not disappoint. The location is downright magical, the service was good. The food was actually really great and there was a live musician playing on the Sunday afternoon we came and that made the experience that much better. When you get to the parking lot, leave your car and wait in the small, covered shelter for a truck to come pick you up and take you down to the saloon. You ride in a large covered truck bed with seats down a steep hill to the restaurant. Even the ride was fun! When you get out of the truck, wait at the hostess station to be seated. There are a multitude of tables in the open air cave. You are outdoors, but there’s a breeze and shade. The farther back in the cave you are, obviously, it feels cooler, temperature wise. Food is plentiful, fresh and tasty. Loved the plump mozzarella cheese sticks, and they fry up their tortilla chips for the chips and salsa fresh while you wait. My sandwich was delicious and everyone enjoyed the well-seasoned fries and juicy onion rings. Due to local ordinances, they don’t serve alcohol until after 5 PM so you’ll have to come for a dinner experience if you want adult beverages with your meal. There was a musician playing country and rock hits on the stage in the cave. He was great and seriously hit all the high points - Skynyrd, Johnny Cash, David Allen Coe, Garth and Waylon and Chris Stapleton. Loved him - the music made a great experience exceptional. After our meal we took a little walk down the hill past the saloon into a magical wooded grotto with a pond, waterfall, more caves and beautiful trees and plants. This place is something special and I highly recommend you make a detour off the beaten path to check it out. Very memorable. You won’t regret it!
