Pop's Sunset Grill - Seafood restaurant in Nokomis - 112 Circuit Rd, USA

This local hangout was recommended to us. It's obvious that is a favorite place to go due to the fact that there were very busy at 1:00 in the afternoon on a Sunday. Still no wait line. We were quickly seated on the canal side where they had the isenglass down. It was a sunny day but cool. We were quickly served water by our waiter. He offered some suggestions and we had a hot toddy and a cappuccino warm us up. I ordered the grouper sandwich blackened which was a little disappointing to me as it should have had more flavor than what it did. My wife ordered the nachos and they put so much queso on them that they overwhelmed the chips, making them soggy. I would just order the queso on the side. It was a large portion of chips for sure but there's no way you can eat them all before they get soggy. It's noisy in there so if you have a hard time hearing this might not be the place to go.

Great place with outdoor and indoor seating, plenty of parking and boat docking. Fast service with delicious food. Nice view of the water, birds and dolphins! Watch for birds they want to get your food. Great coffee.

5 stars all the way around... Service and food were great. Fair price due to the on the water atmosphere. Had the Bahama Mama burger... cooked just right and was very tasty. 16 bucks for the burger with fries... again it's on the water so lots to see as you eat. Parking is not that great but you get to walk off your food. 😂

Awesome staff! Morgan S. Was so helpful and so accommodating to make our meal as plant passed and fresh as possible. Drinks were on time and strong. Kinda sucked when the rain started and we were under the mesh, but we were offered inside seating. The live band was great and not too loud. Prices reasonable and patrons were friendly. Absolutely would return. Breakfast sounds intriguing!

One of our favorite places. The Shrimp Rangoon is literally the best thing! Great entertainment, drinks, and food. Lots of outdoor seating and not tons of inside seating If that is important to you.

I always believe in giving credit where it is due. I'm in the area on a business trip and last weekend my wife was visiting with our youngest daughter, she found this restaurant on Google Maps and decided to place a pickup order. The food we ordered was so good I just picked up another order a few minutes ago. I am a huge fan of bacon egg and cheese sandwiches as well as buttery grits. It takes a lot to impress me with these items and I have to say, this is probably the best bacon egg and cheese sandwich I have ever had and the grits are absolutely amazing. The person who took my order was very friendly as well as everyone who greeted me when I was picking up. Highly recommend, definitely check this place out when you are in the area. And even if you're not in the area, it would be worth the drive.

Good food, great location. We were there at a pretty busy time, but service kept up pretty well. I had the grouper reuban which was a great surprise. When I go back I will ask to sit in the tiki lounge, but the outside deck was great.

What makes it even more special is that we arrived by boat, which added an extra layer of charm to our experience. There's something uniquely enjoyable about docking and dining with a waterfront view. With two different kitchens and chefs, it's clear that there's room for cross-learning. The breakfast/brunch chef's skills are top-notch, and the dinner chef could learn a thing or two from them. Speaking of breakfast, Pop's "Sunrise" Grill menu is ridiculously good, and the specials are simply out of this world. During our recent visit, I tried the Maple Cinnamon Waffle with Candied Bacon, and it was delicious. However, my dining companion opted for the Southwest Chicken Chimichanga, and it was absolutely outstanding – so much so that it made me regret my choice! While the food is fantastic, it's worth mentioning that the hostess provided awesome service. On the flip side, our waiter was a bit lacking in the personality department. Overall, what keeps us coming back to Pop's are the fantastic atmosphere, great drinks, and breathtaking views. And when it comes to breakfast, it's always a hit.
