Visiting from out of state I was bit overwhelmed by all the people while staying downtown. Taking a nice jog over here in this greenery and dirt was an excellent retreat away from it all. Most of the trail was pretty flat and kept on the same elevation as it wrapped around the hills. I might be a bit biased since I am from a mountainous state. I also appreciated the great views of the surrounding city and the highways. Seeing traffic on a Sunday morning was rather odd for someone not from here but I guess the legends about LA traffic are real.

Few hiking roads are there and also benches are available to enjoy family picnic....

Can’t believe after 4 years I still didn’t know about this part of Elysian Park. It’s a nice view point for visitors and photographers.
Great place over looking Downtown Los Angeles, the Avenues neighborhoods & the L.A river. At this location there's about 15 - 20 stalls of parking over looking South West of Downtown & North East. A quiet peaceful place to park or to take photographs of the city.
Will see dusty + smogline
One of the most underrated view points. I mean, Elysian Park already doesn't get enough love and this spot is even more of a hidden gem because of its location that is a bit out of the way for recreational hikers. I hardly see anyone on my way as I ran past this view point.
