Peoples Gas Holiday Market - Market in Pittsburgh - 28 Market Square, USA

This years Christmas spirit and decorations were very underwhelming this year where we live so we drove to Pittsburgh for some Christmas cheer. Ive never been to this part of town before and it was very busy and we found parking in a garage. Not exactly knowing what to expect we wenbt in with an open mind. We found all sorts of vendors and foods there in the square. We were surrounded Christmas music, delicious smelling foods and items to purchase from around the world. It definitely raised our spirits. The entire area was nice with many restaurants and a block over from the square you could ice skate around a huge Christmas tree. You may want to buy tickets in advance to ensure you can get in to skate.

A nice holiday market for the season! There's good food to try, lots of various ornaments, and live music at times.

Nice Christmas market. We enjoyed the Bratwurst and the Apfelstrudel! Glühwein was good, too!

The prices! Oh god, the prices! That, along with the absence of any Gluhwein and a larger food vendor selection, made the visit drop from great to pretty good. Pittsburgh is a big place, and the market is pretty cramped where it is. If it could be moved to the grounds of Point State Park, it could grow bigger. There were also ZERO public restrooms available. They MUST add them next year!

So fun! So many cute shops. You can't miss the beautiful tree and the ice rink. I was there and it ended up being the krampus festival.. it was definitely worth seeing. It was a first for me!

I’m not sure how people rate this 5 stars… it’s a teeny tiny market with mostly REALLY marked up trinkets you can get on Amazon or Etsy, with like 4 exceptions which have really unique hand made items. If you’re not from Pittsburgh and are in town and hear “holiday market” please be aware this is more like 25 concession stands with very listing ambience. Even going slowly you can see everything here in about 15 minutes. Don’t make this a specific trip, but if you’re in the area it’s nice for a quick walkthrough.
