We had lunch here and at the other location multiple times whenever we traveled to Sequoias or South CA. The restaurant and the store are great and always maintain consistency in quality and quantity. The food, especially splitpea soup and sandwiches (especially vegetarian eggplant one) have always been yummy and abundant. The service is very friendly during breakfast or lunch time though restaurants would be busy. Their chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream is so heavenly! I wish they include vegetarian sandwich in soup and sandwich combo. That’s my only issue as am the only vegetarian in the group and I have to make two orders. I box the leftovers for my dinner though. Love their bakery items and pastries to go.

The pea soup was delicious. I wish they had a version with ham just like Grandma used to make. The best garlic croutons I've ever tasted love them so much. It's definitely worth the trip. The pastries we got on the way out were so delicious.

This is a great stop for families. We have stopped here since the 1980's. The interior looks the same today. They have a fun gift shop for everyone in the family. Of course, the split pea soup is the signature dish! It's a great stop for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Classic location on Interstate 5!

This restaurant is really neat. My husband has the Frikadeller and he said it was wonderful. Service was good. It wasn't very crowded on a Tuesday late afternoon. The cheese rolls were interesting. I didn't quite like them at first but we ended up asking for more! They have a gift shop with lots of goodies. They sell their pea soup. And they also sell the Greek seasoning they have on the table. Picked up a cheese danish and a fresh chocolate eclair on the way out too! They also have an event room on the second floor, a small pub beside the restaurant and a hotel next door. EDIT: we stopped in today and got the Swedish meatballs--absolutely delicious!!

Make your road trip special! This place is Exactly what you expect from a vintage landmark. 100 years of history in every bowl of soup. This stop never disappoints. Lots of goodies to take back home or as gifts. Large restroom and parking space. Oh... Tesla supercharger right here.

The bakery program is SOLID and makes the stop worthwhile. There's a light, airy sandwich cookie with raspberry jam and whip cream that is perfect! It's not too sweet and has a great texture. The chocolate chip cookie and peanut butter cookie were solid. Both had butter, were soft, and chewy. All the pastries were surprisingly good for a tourist stop. The split pea soup is worth getting once. We dined in and shared a soup bowl. It was seasoned, thick, and hot. It is by far the best pea soup, but not my favorite soup. Still, I would bring the uninitiated to try it. The bathrooms were clean and in order. Although the whole place could use a refresh, the bakery goods, the soup, and clean bathrooms makes this place worth visiting. Tesla supercharging is NOT FREE as claimed by other reviewers. It's listed as the Gustine Supercharger. It's located in at the back of the parking lot, behind the restaurant. It could use more lighting after sunset. The parking lot is a bit dark but generally safe.

Awesome place to eat or even to just visit, they have a fairly big gift shop given that it's a restaurant. There are a lot of interesting and nice things to see or buy. The servings sizes are HUGE and very delicious, and of course, you have to get the split peas soup. We've passed by this restaurant about half a dozen times throughout our roaptrips, and finally, we were able to stop by for dinner. It's a must 100% recommend it, they even have there own condiments for sale (had to get the steak seasoning) don't forget to get a split pea soup to go, trust me you'll thank yourself in the morning. And make it a large lol, no lie.

Amazing, amazing, amazing service!!! Salvador was excellent, friendly, and very professional! We were a group of 8 and served us as if we would have been a group of 2. Ask for Salvador! We have been to other places (Kincaids, Norms, Denny's, etc) and can not handle a party of 8. Salvador made it look easy. Refilled my wife's water without us asking. He spotted the empty glass from a mile away!!! How??? He makes this place very desirable! Great Great place with a spectacular service!
