Love this resort. The first time I visited Hawaii there is where I stayed and it really is a beautiful place. The beach is never super busy, calm, and beautiful. Few negatives to note 1. They have an excellent restaurant on site but its packed every single day since its one of the only places to get a sit down breakfast. When I say packed I mean you should be ready to wait in line for an hour at least. 2. Make sure you dont get a room near the shuffleboard court if you appreciate quite.... or if you appreciate not having to hear pucks hit the ground all day long.

Loved this hotel. The property was quiet and clean. We had a refurbished room which was immaculate and nicely decorated, an adequate size for our family. We were given an upgrade as it was our anniversary, from partial ocean to ocean view, which was extremely kind of the staff. The pool is pretty small but the beach is amazing, wide, lovely sand, awesome waves, really close to Black Rock which my sons loved jumping off and we all enjoyed snorkeling near. There's a place to rent beach things such as umbrellas and snorkel gear right at the edge of the property. Beautiful nightly sunsets. Whalers Village is a five minute walk away - this hotel is a perfect location! It's understated compared to those all around it and we loved that. The hotel next door was so CROWDED with people everywhere. And other hotels along the strip just seemed a bit too "fancy" for us, a family of 4 with two teen boys ages 17 and 15. The grounds here are lovely, lots of wide open spaces and grass and pretty trees and flowers. So many chairs to sit on. I loved going out in the morning, getting a coffee at the cafe, and sitting in a chair on the edge of the property by the beach. The staff was warm and welcoming, particularly those who worked in the Cultural Center. We took ukelele lessons one day and also participated in a lei ceremony where we learned about the kukui nut, among other things. One of the individuals took particular interest in speaking to us about where we were from and sharing some of her background, it felt like a nice personal touch. We enjoyed breakfast items from the cafe such as breakfast sandwiches and acai bowls. My husband and I opted to skip the buffet as it was $30/pp and didn't have a ton of selection. Our teens did it one day though and they give it a thumbs up. They love all you can eat buffets! We ate dinner at Maui Brewing Company one night and it was really good! Great atmosphere too. We would absolutely return and stay at this hotel, I truly hope we can someday sooner rather than later. We were very sad to leave.

This resort is beautiful and the staff are all so wonderful. We stayed there for a week and got married on the beach. All the staff addressed us by our names and with a smile. Our housekeeper Vange, left handwritten notes and left us special gifts each day leading up to our wedding day and after. Our room was very clean and the views of the ocean were amazing. We left the door open at night to our balcony and closed t he screen so we could hear the ocean waves at night. Very relaxing. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The resort beach is great and the boardwalk leads to shopping, other restaurants and a nice luau that is within a 5 to 10 minute walk. If you didn't rent a car to go exploring, the resort is close to many places that you could walk to. We had a car and the valet staff were always quick to get our car and Jenny and Ron gave us wonderful recommendations of places to visit and restaurants to go to. Each one was amazing. I can't wait to go back!!

Great place to stay if you don't mind an older property. If you can get into the premium oceanfront rooms, they are nice and worth it. Beach is nice. Staff was wonderful and truly treat guests with the spirit of aloha. Helene at the front desk was exceptional in checking us in a bit early. Lynn our housekeeper was a sweetheart. My only big complaint is lack of a fitness center.

I really enjoyed my stay at OUTRIGGER Kāʻanapali Beach Resort. Particularly, I enjoyed the cultural programs and classes that were offered. I learned about flora brought by the Polynesians which can be found in the resort's garden, ukelele, Hawaiian language and stories. My kids also enjoyed the classes and completing the activity book. Shout out to Anela and Ko'i who were great teachers. The experience was as educational as it was fun. Lastly, our room was very clean and the resort is well-kept.

Resort is beautiful and the staff is so friendly! Everything was clean and atmosphere was great! The only thing is that they do not have a jacuzzi that would’ve been awesome. They do have a microwave that we can use, actually in 2 different locations, they also have a laundry facility! Walking distance to shops and abc store. Will definitely keep them in mind if I come back to Maui. I enjoyed my stay.

We've been coming here for a few years, and on this visit we were impressed by the service and attention to detail on making us comfortable. The staff is wonderful and the location can't be beat. We always reserve a cabana chair to sit in some shade on the beach, and if you book a few days you get a day free. It's worth it! It might not be as fancy as some of the other properties on the strip, but it has the authentic Hawaiian vibe and is a little further up from Whaler's Village and the crowds.

We were booked into a supposedly ‘recently renovated’ room which looks like it’s 30 years old. It is definitely not recently renovated. This place is supposed to be a resort but does not really offer resort services. No room service. No minibar. No poolside drink or food service. No restaurant to eat at night. There is a Maui brewing company on site but they do not serve guests outside their premises. ||Whilst the towels are changed daily the beds are not made daily. ||It is more like partially serviced apartments. However this place charges $40 US per night in addition to the room fee as a “resort fee”. They also charge their guests who have already paid these fees a further $20 US per night for parking. ||Whilst it is fair to charge appropriately this is really fleecing the guests. This is topped off by the “stewards” who will gladly take another $60US per day for an umbrella and chairs.
