This revew of cabin experience only. The park itself is great with amazing location and things to do. Cabins- not so good. To start ,as soon as we opened the door , my daughter said- this is gross , can we go home, my husband - can we get a hotel ? But it was late and we decided to stay. Don't know how to describe it... The door would not open fully because the floor was severely warped ( water damage?). The door was black and sticky with grime , same as bed frames. The light under the ceiling looked like it belonged in prison cell in a third world country, no other sources of light . There were multiple , some preatty large holes in the door, door frame and between the walls and the floor- any bugs - welcome!!!. December is almost no "no see ums" time and we did not have any issues but I can imagine during the summer issue with these holes and the door not latching spells BIG BUG PROBLEMS. Oh eh, the door has no latch, so if you do not lock it with the key every time you go in or out , it WILL stay open. Irritated me big time! Also, I have never seen this in ANY state park- bathroom door needs to be open with the key! Guess what?, it's on the same ring as cabin key. It goes like this: lock the cabin so you don't get bugs or raccoons inside, unlock bathroom door for your spouse, take key, unlock door for yourself, come out of the bathroom to find your spouse waiting because he can't get in the cabin without the key because he forgot his soap or something else... Yes , it might be minor Inconveniences but it is very irritating. The worst- it just DIrty, dirty inside. Also, in the female bathroom 2 stolls out of 3 were " out of service " and remaining stall had no toilet paper in the morning. I wish they just had tenting sites. |Conclusion- park itself is great, nice beach, nice fishing -( caught some nice fishes there), very nice kayaking in the mangrove tunnels ( winter time is the best if you don't like bugs), very nice intermediate level biking trails ( mountain bike and helmet highly recommended 😀). Location to the restaurants and Hullover park - 5 MIN DRIVE, can't beat that!!!|Cabins- please have very low expectations and you will enjoy your visit!

Stayed in cabin 10. While there was some water damage to the walls, it was a wonderful cabin to stay in. I also loved the hot showers and the convenient location. There was one full bed and one bunk bed in our cabin. Got a little cold so I'm glad we had so many blankets in the car. You have to bring your own linens.

We arrived early in the morning and had the kayaking spot all to ourselves. It was incredibly peaceful paddling through the mangroves, surrounded by nature. We spotted some beautiful birds, fish, and even a few seemingly abandoned boats. It was truly worth it. Don't forget to check out Groupons first for some great deals on kayaking!

The best place for kayaking! If possible, go on weekdays to avoid the heavy weekend and holiday crowds. The staff is consistently friendly, and the surroundings are stunning. Don't miss manatee season!

We decided to visit on a cloudy day to do some kayaking! It was really fun afternoon! Don't forget ID. We used kayak for around 1 hour but there are options for 2 hours and all day. There were a few snacks in the shops and cold drinks so would recommend a picnic.

Been here to kayak a few times and it’s phenomenal. Good prices, great location. Love cove beach—the admission price is very low and there are so many activities! Location is gorgeous. A must for locals and tourists alike.

I've gone to the park a few times and enjoyed the vibe in North Miami area! I rented a kayak with a few other folks and we paddled through the mangroves out into the open waters. Was hoping to see a manatee but didn't quite pan out. The trail walks are clearly marked and easy to navigate, but bug spray is a must.

The park is located near the north beach area. It has a nice location and not very crowded. The entrance fee is $6 per vehicle (cars). It closes at sunset. It has nice trail for biking. Options for kayaking is also available. There are plenty of shelters for booking. We saw lot families visiting this place especially to a section where a small beach area and a park with grills make it perfect spot to hangout.
