Olde Towne Tobacconist - Cigar shop in Fredericksburg - 719 Caroline St suite a, USA

OTT was great. I was in town on a quick day trip and wandered in while soaking up the sights of historic downtown. Carson, the fellow behind the counter, was friendly and knowledgeable and set me up with some pipe tobacco to go, a new cigar to try when I have some more time on my hands, and a quick smoke to enjoy then and there while walking around. I will definitely be visiting again.

Elsewhere I read this is the best cigar shop in Fredericksburg. Maybe I need to look harder… This was not a 5-star experience by any stretch of the imagination. The cigar selection is only ok and the presentation is way lackluster. Maybe turn on a few lights? The furniture was sad. Like the break room at Jiffy Lube. I just wasn’t feeling it. Yes, it is downtown and there is no chance to park at the curb further weekend busy time - the guy posted at the front door was nice enough. It has a ways to go to get me to return often.

Hands down the best place in the Burg to find a nice cigar. They have friendly, helpful, and most importantly, knowledgeable people working there. I stopped by with a picture of a cigar that I had enjoyed in Virginia Beach. Within a minute after walking in I was greeted with a “Let me know if I can help you find anything “. They didn’t carry that cigar but I was directed to two other similar ones. I made it out of there with a new V-notch cigar cutter too. I checked out the back hang out area, but decided to bring my cigars home with me to relax. They also sell pipe tobacco, humidors and torch lighters. No vapes or THC, just traditional tobacco with a wide selection. My kind of place.

Great selection of cigars, good prices. 2 little lounges in the back and the outside patio is amazing. Fire pit multiple seating, parking in the back also. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable!!

Me and my other half visited after picking up a slight interest in cigars. He works over the road as a truck driver and wanted to pick up a number of different long lasting ones to try. Tawana was knowledge, kind, and over all an amazing person to help us choose the right ones. She educated me on how to cut and light them correctly and i couldn’t have asked for a better experience at a shop downtown. We will definitely be coming back to see her!!

The guy working the register was very helpful. They have a great selection of cigars. I would highly recommend you stop by sometime.

Not sure why a couple reviewers have leaned into racial and political arguments about this lovely shop. This spot has a nice mixed bag of clientele, a fantastic selection of cigars and pipe tobacco, friendly and knowledgeable staff, fair pricing (especially given the location) and an all around comfy environment. Will return when I come back through Fredericksburg for sure!
