You can really see why the headlands mendocino state park is here. It's right where the area surrounding it leads to, then head out to the headlands. The ocean stops, or starts if that's where you are, as the headlands stop, or begin. Right here.
Very beautiful, easy, flat trails and headlands.
Beautiful place to see some birds. And with the ocean in the background a lovely place to relax. Highly recommended!!
Great disappointment as there is scant improvements to the walkway and no way to get to the beach. And to top it off there is hardly any sea glass. Not worth the trip. Although it is a rugged coastline and the view is pretty.
This is an amazing park. Easy parking, walkable from downtown Mendocino, gorgeous views, dog friendly. I wore hiking boots and glad I did because we wanted to walk along the optional rocky edge. You can make the walk easy by going just to a couple of the outcrops. Then you can make it a little challenging and take some standy uneven stairs down to the sandy beach (you have to take them back up too) or you can turn right and walk more rocky elevated terrain for more amazing, unobstructed views.

We have been coming here for many years. This place is simply wonderful - trails along the cliffs, fantastic views of the ocean where you sometimes can spot gray whales or humpbacks. An abundance of wildflowers in the spring. You can walk shorter or longer loops. Dress warmly because it's windy.
Such pretty views! Walking along the ocean we saw seals and all kinds of birds on the rocks!
Loved here for 10 years now and have no regrets. It’s always beautiful. So much to see and do that in nature and feels so refreshing. Great sunsets and wonderful on sunny days.
