McMenamins Kennedy School - Hotel in Portland - 5736 NE 33rd Ave, USA

We had our annual Christmas party here. The food was quite good and the service was excellent. The staff had a great time. The beer and wine were good and my staff liked the mixed drinks. After the party we went to the boiler room bar which is quite unique with its layout and decor. The service was good there as well. There are a couple of pool tables as well as a shuffle board table for entertainment. We had a good breakfast the next morning. The hotel rooms are very nice. They have a nice hot soaking pool to use as well.

I met a number of friends and co-workers for a retirement party of a mutual friend. We spent most of our evening and the boiler room. Initially I thought it will might be difficult to find, but it was actually quite easy and to my surprise I had parked outside the entrance. Don't forget the parking lot is on Jessup Street. Service was fantastic during our time on site. The bartender was very attentive and one of the hosts was very prompt with all of our food. We all had a great time and celebrated retirement of a friend. Can't wait to get back and watch a movie in the theater! It's been a couple of years.

The theater was fun and comfortable! We got there early enough to pick our seats (about an hour early)...we ordered drinks and some food which were delivered to where we sat. The showing of the movie was of good quality as far as sound and the screen/projection. The soaking pool is affordable ($8) and fun to visit but usually busy (usually including children/families) and pretty full despite staggering appointment times and limiting the number of guests. Lockers are provided in the changing room, but without locks. Toilets/sinks are down the hall from the soaking pool changing room/the pool itself. The restaurant service was slow both times I went but I know they were also understaffed. Staff has been friendly every time I've gone.

The open floor that allows you to explore the once school, is really fun. Once class rooms or detention are now little bars or boarding rooms. The wine selection is superb, the drinks are tasty, but the food not so much. I feel as if the menu hasn’t changed in years and could use a bit of a revamp.

We came for Drag Queen bingo which was so much fun! Definitely will be going to more of those. Poison Waters is a delight as an emcee and we even won tickets to Darcelle’s XV our room was well apportioned for our pup who,was traveling with us and was in a quiet area of the property with no,walk by traffic which was very nice. There were other issues with the room as described below but overall a delightful show and good food and fun.

Went for a workshop for my job...the place is really cool...got to look around a bit, saw the main attractions...while I'm not a big public soak kind of person, it was neat! Definitely recommend checking out all the neat little bars and I bet you'll find one that suits you just right! My personal favorite is Detention!

I went to the soaking pool, it was so relaxing and the vibes were sooo nice. Even though it was pretty busy on a Saturday, we were still able to find a spot and talk. I really loved it. There’s also an espresso bar and regular bar to get drinks to bring in with you! I didn’t stay in a hotel room but the vibes of the hotel were really nice. Kinda like imagine Matilda’s school as a hotel. Low lighting, super old school but elegant.

Very cool bars inside this refurbished elementary school. We didn't stay in hotel rooms, so can't rate them. We got there for happy hour and got good deal on drinks and burgers. Place is amazingly Decorated.
